Premier Park Events

Any other brides getting married in a cincinnati park?

Have you been having major issues with the new contractor? We have been having huge issues with them from them losing all the info from our first meeting and not doing our layouts so that 2.5 months later when we called, we had to go back in to give them all the info again. Then when I called to remind them, they had not been working on it at all, and I got it late again, but with a lot of huge mistakes - including them missing 20 seats for the wedding.

Sigh. I just want to know if anyone else is running into problems with the switch from Historic Park Managment to Premier Park Events.

    Hey,

we're getting married the same day! Yeah I've had some issues with the new management. We're getting married at Oak Ridge Lodge and we just received our new contract although I asked for it in January. It's also really hard to get through to talk to them on the phone. It's been a pain...luckily we don't have that much longer to go. I'm trying not to let it stress me out.lol.

I was interested in Maple Ridge Lodge and wanted to get a showing of it but they only had a showing for Oak at the time. We went to see Oak and asked about going to see Maple and they never called or emailed back and this was over a month ago. I have tried to call a few times with no call back either. It put me off from the place and we will not be booking there now.

Sigh. I was kind of hoping this was just an "us" incident.

If I hadn't already paid all the payments to Historic back last July and could get my money back, we might change. As it is....

I just got that contract too - even though they had us sign a make shift one back in January.

I got engaged over this past christmas, and called them right away. It took them a month to get back to me, and Judi never really would answer many of my questions. We fell in love with Alms Park, but their lack of helpfulness and the 15 days to get the entire rental cost to them is a bit COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS! so we're looking in NKY for our venue! GOOD LUCK!

Be very careful booking with them.  Have had lots of communication problems and hard to return phone calls etc.

***Update****Held our event on 5/28/2011  Lovely night and Krohn Conservatory is a beautiful place.  For anyone considering Krohn beware of the communication with the coordinator.  Phone calls go unreturned for long periods of time.  Policies changed or were uncommunicated.  Set-up was changed last minute causing un-due stress and some awkwardness with seating.  Things communicated in meeting needed to be repeated and was told "lots of things were said, I can't remember them all"
The Cincinnati Parks are beautiful it is too bad Premier Park Events delivers such poor customer service.

I have had horrible issues with them.  I am prefectly aware of the fact that they are new to this, but I don't think it gives them the right to still not having the pricing and policies together for 2012.  I "reserved" Ault Park for May, 2012 in March and they were supposed to have to me the pricing and policies by "the last week in April/first week in May." It's now the last week in May and I still don't know what the exact cost is going to be.  Meanwhile, most of the other venues we are looking at are booking up on our date.

I am very, very frustrated and am probably going to wind up having my wedding elsewhere because of their customer service which is a real bummer.

I know that this is a bit later than you all have been talking, but we are getting married next June 2012 and we booked Alms Park months ago. They we happy to meet us there for a special visit and explained everything just fine. We LOVE the venue! I also want to tell everyone that we didn't pay our full payment for months and they didn't care (even though they said 15 days I plain forgot). So I wouldn't worry too much about that. :) Good luck everyone!!!

Our daughter is being married at The French House in September.  The issues we have encountered with Premier were caused primarily because our initial contact was with the former rental agents; I feel they told us what we wanted to hear in some cases versus the absolute truth.  However, we have received first rate service from Paige and Kevin since then and feel confident all will go as promised.  I have the added security of knowing:

    1.  Kevin will be onsite at 9:00 AM (the ceremony is at 5:30);
    2.  cell phone numbers are available

Phone calls have been  returned in a timely manner and all concerns have been addressed.  I have had 2 meetings with them at the venue where they took all the time we wanted to answer questions etc.  Today when I met with Kevin, I was over an hour late due to a work stoppage on I-71 and he was most gracious.  Give these people a break; they are in business and want to do everything possible to please families and providce a first rate experioence.  And you can't beat their venues if you are looking for something special!!!

I am really sorry to say that my experience with PPE (as the matron of honor in my sister's wedding) has been more similar to the majority of the negative posts here, and not the one or two positive ones.  I was actually married at Ault Park 3 years ago and so of course worked very closely with Historic Properties and everything was flawless.  I had no problems at all - and because my wedding turned out so well, my sister was encouraged to book French Park/French House for her wedding, which she did last summer.  Since PPE took over the Cincinnati Parks' management in January it has been a nightmare for her.  We are days out from her wedding and she has no schematic of the layout (it has been promised to her repeatedly), which means she has no final number of tables required for guests/cake/food set up (stations), chairs, linens, etc.  She held her walk through over two months ago (I was there - it was held on a weekday so she and her fiance had to take off of work to drive in from Columbus, where they live, even though they were originally told that PPE  could accomodate their request to hold the walk-through on a weekend) and the set up for guests' tables, food, DJ, everything (all inside the house with the exception of cocktails on the paito and food stations on the back patio) was agreed upon and she was told she would have the schematic shortly.  She has been calling PPE for the past 3 weeks (left 5 voicemails) and when she finally reached someone live was told that the layout on which she had planned the entire rest of the reception (telling vendors where to be, how to be set up - even down to the reception itinerary and where to hold the toasts, cake cutting, and first dances) would not work.  This is completely appalling to me.  A bride should not be worried about the physical set-up and logistics of her reception 8 days before her wedding.  I will say that as of today, PPE has offered to comp the cost of the awning for the back patio that they are basically now forced to rent to accomodate the dance floor (which she was told would be absolutely no problem to hold inside in the sweltering August heat - at her walk through two months ago), so maybe someone there now has the smallest inkling of a clue that their employees are running roughshod with the planning and making promises upon which they cannot deliver.  And this is really just the latest and greatest in a string of fails.  She was originally told that her date wasn't reserved for her even though she had a contract with the prior manager and had paid her deposit on time.  She was told her wedding coordinator could access the French House at any time on the day of the wedding for set up - as there are no other events there that day - and was then told that there would be an hourly rental charge.  She was told that her caterer could provide linens and was then told that only PPE could provide linens (at a rental charge).  Ironically, with most of these changes comes more "$change$" for PPE.  I hope someone from PPE is reading these reviews so that people like Nawrockim's daughter have beautiful weddings in what are such beautiful venues, but I hate it that my sister has been a guinea pig in this process.  I would love to come back and update this review to a positive one, but we are not holding out much hope here.

i went through them recently  and i had a bad experience, before my wedding i met with them 3 times and they still gavei  me wrong layouts when we finally had them right  they said they got all my changes and we were good to go well i called them a week before my wedding and left messages all the way up to the day before the wedding and they still didnt call me back. the day of my wedding i had no tables or chairs set up half hour before they set them up with the wrong color linens and napkins then my guests and groomsmen were setting up the chairs because they still werent done. it was so embarrising and unprofeccional they told me it would be done two hours before the wedding started. also no one from primeir parks was there untill my wedding was over. they came and shut it down early saying to get people out? they had none of my decor they said would be set up for me that i payed extra for done before the wedding or anything it was just very disapointing and made me very upset because we paid an arm and a leg to them to have this perfect day. my advice is to not use them and if you are to get there way early and start doing things yourself and making sure its perfect for yourself. i got there and hour before my wedding and had to deal with pure crazyness lots of tears .
  • I am getting married in September 2012 and I have to disagree with most of the post on here. I have been treated like royalty from this company and I have to admit, I have the cheapest site for my wedding and reception as I am on a budget.  Paige has treated me like I was spending a million dollars and has bent over backwards to get me information that I have requested. I do not have the words to explain how easy she is making this for me.
My contracts with the wedding and reception are already signed, paid, and I have the permits already.
I still have 9 months to go and things may change in future, but as of now, I couldn't be happier with my choice.
  • My husband and recently got married at one of the Cincinnati Parks. Our dealing with Premier Park Events has been a total nightmare. We faced many issues over the past year dealing with them. Everything from them changing the contract, changing the alcohol policy, charging higher prices that what is listed on the website and what was originally quoted to us. My main contact was Judi, it was my understanding she is one of the owners and main operators. We met with her a total of 4 times the year leading up to our wedding. After reading all the reviews we were very reluctant to use Premier Park Events. Based on all the reviews it seemed if you had you heart set on one of the parks, most of the time everything turned out great in the end. As Judi assured us many times everything would be perfect, nothing to worry about. We had a final meeting with our caterer and Judi for a final walkthrough a month before the wedding. She was great about answering any last minute questions, although totally dropped the ball the week before our wedding. I was notified on Tuesday the week of our wedding that they had changed the final seating chart. I left several messages for Judi at the office and on her personal cell, which she is "reachable at all times" to never receive any response. The day before the wedding I left her a message stating she could speak to my coordinators regarding the seating chart, she then explained she had been out of the office. So there I was trying to work the seating chart and redoing escort cards 2 hours before our rehearsal. At that time she assured me she would be at my event by 3 pm the next day, everything would be ready for the other vendors and set up by 3pm. I arrived at the park with my bridal party at 4:30, the wedding was to start at 6. The tables were set up. No chairs, no linens, no table runners. Judi was no where to be found and never showed up. My bridesmaids were then asked to start helping with table linens and setup. Fortunately we had 2 wedding coordinators their and two additional guys that assisted with our own decorations. They ended up doing most of the work. While Kevin shows up at around 5pm or later, staying Judi was scheduled at another event. Really? For an entire year she was main contact, every detail was discussed and handled by Judi. It was totally rediculous and very disappointing to say the least. If we had not hired addional assistance and had an amazing bridal party, our wedding would have not gone off on time and we would have been completely embarrassed. Kevin never introduced himself to anyone, as far as they knew there was not a main contact available from Premier Park Events. I has now been weeks following our wedding, we have not heard a single word from them. We are glad that we were able to get married at our favorite park, but I could never faithfully recommend Premier Park Events. They are good talkers, that's about it. Please have a backup plan
