Catholic wedding Lancaster...not members of the church

My fiance and I would prefer to be married in a Catholic church in Lancaster.  We have not joined a church yet, so I realize that will be a problem.  Another issue is that he is Catholic and I am Lutheran.  We do not want a full mass ceremony.  What churches has anyone found to work for this sort of situation?
Thanks!

Lauren

I attend St. Philip's the Apostle Catholic Church in Millersville. I am Catholic and my fiance is not, which Father was ok with. I am not sure how it would be if you are not members of the church yet. I am not sure if we are having a full mass or partial mass b/c most of his family not being Catholic and most of mine being Catholic- we will figure that out a little closer to the time. I do know that you will have to go to either a retreat or pre-marital classes. Good luck!

I grew up going to St. Philips outside of Millersville, at first the priest agreed to marry us (DH is not Catholic) and we started the premarital classes, etc...literally two days before we were suppose to order invitations, the priest said that he would not marry us if we were not going to regularly attend/be members, etc. (We could have lied, but did not want to start our marriage that way...We live 40 minutes away from there)

That priest is now gone, but just be sure that you (and they) are sure on what your future will be there. It would have saved us a lot of heartache and tears if he hadn't changed his mind :( A friend of mine got married at the Catholic church downtown, and they did a lovely job! They even allowed her pastor (non-Catholic) to do part of the ceremony! I realize that we just had a bad experience, but just wanted to put this out there so that no one else has to go through this!!! Good luck!
