False Eyelashes?

When I had my makeup trial earlier this week, the MUA recommended false eyelashes. She said most of her brides use them and that they really make eyes pop in pictures. Are any of you all using them or no? I don't know how I feel about them...

Re: False Eyelashes?

  • I am, but my MUA is doing individual lash inserts rather then one piece. At my trial we tried both so I could see how it looked and the indivisual ones were much nicer and definitely worth the extra cost.

  • I'm not only because I'm doing my own makeup. If I was having a makeup artist, I'd certainly try it and see how it looked.

  • I used them for my boudoir shoot, but I'm not planning to use them for my wedding.  They just were not for me.

  • I'm not sure.  My MOH is doing my makeup, so if she feels comfortable doing them, then maybe.

  • YES! USE THEM! PLEASE! :)

I used to be a MUA for fashion shoots and eshoots/weddings! Your photographs will still be nice, but you may look washed out or tired without the falsies. Play around with different types, ie full strips vs. individual lash clumps ect. The full lash is more glamourous and the individuals are more natural.

But at least try it out at your make up trial with your accessories, hair done and a tube top (so you're not distraced by whatever shirt you wear) and also your veil if you are wearing one and then take a few pictures with your camera or phone. Take some close up, looking down and full body. smiling and not smiling. Then PRINT them, don't just look at them on your camera/phone.

You will see a world of difference!! Please at least just try it! :)

Sorry I feel like lashes are a MUST for every bride! Even the most natural or toy boy of a bride... like me :)
  • They are included in my package at no extra charge so I am using them. I honestly don't think I noticed a difference but I was so much more dolled up than usual that I was focusing on my whole face, not just my lashes. I was worried about them being uncomfortable, and I could feel them, but after having them on a couple hours it really didn't bother me. I figure if they get annoying after pics I'll just pull them off lol. I had the full strip, not individual.
  • I think they make a big difference.  I love them and will definitely be using them.

  • I guess I'm going to be the lone voice in the crowd saying I am absolutely not using them! I have never used them before. I want to look like myself and be comfortable at my own wedding, not picking at the foreign objects on my eyelids. Plus I plan to wear my glasses and I wouldn't want the falsies bumping against my lenses. No sir, mascara is good enough for me. One of my coworkers wears fake lashes every day, and I don't know how she deals with it!

I used to wear fake eyelashes all the time.  Honestly I LOVE them!  I wore them almost everytime I went out from like 22-24 years old.  The difference in the pictures when I had them on and didn't is amazing.  Get them, it's totally worth it!

  • I LOVE wearing falsies.  (as long as they're put on correctly)  Back in my college days I could whip them on myself with no problem, but now not so much.  They do make your eyes pop and in pictures, they don't look too much.
  • I wasn't planning on it-had no idea it was so common.
It doesn't have to be perfect to be everything I want!

  • i am but just because i love the look and really have no other occasion to wear them!

here is a pic my mom took after my trial...it's a little hard to see but without the lashes i'd look silly.  if you are concerned ith the comfort of wearing them you can ask your MUA to put them on adn see how they feel for the day.  I did that twice and I got used to them so quickly.  and if you don't like them in the trial, just don't wear them on your wedding day!
but take some pictures of yourself, both close up adn far awa, wearing the lashes so u know what it will look like in pix.

<div>You're not alone! I'm not wearing them for the exact same reasons you aren't (even glasses!).  I'm wearing contacts for the ceremony and switching to glasses for the reception, and absolutely NOT dealing with falsies. I didn't even want to have my makeup professionally done, but my mom insisted.</div>
  • I am going to use them and I am doing my own makeup. I just tried them for the first time for my bachlorette party and they were pretty easy to put on. PLUS, FI came home and said "Why don't you ever do sexy eyes like that for me?!" So he liked them as well :)

  • They are included in my makeup package.  My trial is on Sunday so I'm going to see how they look.  I will definitely NOT be wearing mascara - I would have racoon eyes before the ceremony even started.  I'm hoping they look good and close to natural.  If not, I have pretty long eyelashes so I'd probably go without or do clear mascara (assuming it wouldn't run and leave weird streaks).
  • I have eyelash extensions!  I love love my extensions, if I didn't have them I would definitely wear fake ones to the wedding.
