Please Help Std

Hello everybody =)

I did my save the date cards on Monday. It reads:

Andre & Yahaira

Our Picture

Save the Date

July 30, 2011
New Jersey

Invitation to Follow

I forgot to put what it is for but my h2b says it doesnt matter and people know when someone says Save the Date it means wedding... I dnt believe that. Please help me. I need some ideas on what to do or even insert with my save the date cards.

    I had a similar dilemma -- whether or not to be explicit in my STD.  I agree with your FI.  People will surely get it.  I doubt you are sending to people who have zero idea you are getting married.  Unless this is an engagement announcement as well?  I have seen MANY STDs that don't state the couple will be married explicitly -- just the names, a picture, a date. 

    In the end, though, I ended up being a bit more explicit about the fact that the date to be saved is our wedding date.  

    IF you feel really concerned that people will just scratch their heads and MUST do something... who is doing your envelopes?  Can you/they print anywhere on the envelopes  "Andre & Yahaira Are Tying the Knot" or "Andre & Yahaira Are Getting Married"?

    I am sure from word of mouth people know what the save the date is for. BTW we are getting married on the same day! :)  Where's your reception?

    I think people will get the idea. Mine didn't say anything about getting married--it just said Save the Date. You will be fine.

    Did you just put "New Jersey"? Or are you going to include the city?

    There's a big difference between people traveling to the Shore in July, versus the northern part of the state in July (summer traffic, booking hotel rooms, etc.). Give people as much information as you can.

    Yeah, but she said she might do insert cards.

    Put in an info/directions card about the ceremony location and also the sheets that the hotel gives you for the room blocks.
