Rehersal Dinner

Who exactly do we invite to our rehersal dinner besides the wedding party?  Also do most people invite the pastor or clergy that will be marrying them since they will be at the rehersal as well?

Re: Rehersal Dinner

  • Bridal party, immediate family, and the officiant are traditionally who is invited.
  • Oh and the significant others of all those people.
  • Rehearsal.

Invite any one who participated in the rehearsal and their significant others. It is a nice gesture to also invite guests who are traveling long distances from out of town. This is far from necessary, however.
  • Anyone who is a part of the ceremony and their dates. We invited the officiant to ours, but that was because he was my cousin and also the flower girl's dad.

  • Would it be rude if we didn't invite the officiant? There are a few people who are going to be at the dinner that can become quite loud and offensive after they've had a few drinks...
  • I would still invite him/her. In most cases the offciant is wise enough to excuse themself and I am sure yours won't be the first rowdy bridal party they have encountered. You may want to remind these people of the officiants presence as well.
