the barn at wesleyan hills

Hi Everyone,

I'm sorry if this has been asked already, I have looked around and I didn't see a post about it yet.

I was wondering if anyone has seen, or had their wedding at The Barn at Wesleyan Hills. My Fiance and I are completely in love with it from all the photos we have seen and the prices seem extremely reasonable! We are going to see it next month. Just curious what other peoples experiences were there.

thanks!!

A close friend had her wedding there in late summer and it was beautiful.  The ceremony was near the little bridge by the pond and the reception was fun because the barn was very informal and had a very nice party atmosphere.  It's a bit "country" as far as ambiance, but it was one of the best weddings I've ever been too as far as a good time!

Honestly, I don't as it was several years ago, but I would have remembered if it was bad for what ever that's worth!!

We are getting married there next May! We went to see it and fell in LOVE! It is so different than any other venue, we loved the atmosphere! We met with Jonathan, he was great, able to answer all of our questions. When we went to see it they had several tables set up in different ways, with the lights strung across the ceiling. We went to a bridal show at the pavillion at crystal lake to sample their menus and the food was great!!!

The only downfalls are the increased price per plate for the upcoming year, and the rental fee, which wasn't mentioned in the online package. But we decided it was worth the extra money because we loved it so much. The decorations you see online are an additional price as well, but we are planning on doing all of that ourselves.

If you have any other questions, let me know. Good luck with the planning! :o) HTH!

hey! Thank you so so much for your advice! So it turns out to be a lot more then what they advertise on the site per plate? I know it says on the site that it is $85 for 2010... and we are looking to get married in 2012... so i was hoping it wouldn't be more then like 105$ per plate... does it go way over that? I guess the location fee isnt a huge deal because most places have that.. and if its pretty enough then maybe we can suck it up. I am glad to hear the food is good as that is a HUGE concern!

I cant wait to go see it!

We went to see it and it was really pretty. We ended up going with the Wadsworth but the Barns were choice 2.  The three things we didn't like about it: the red helvetica on the barns, how close to the road it was, and we wanted to have a larger option for the caterers.

Jennasourus- we are paying $95 per plate so I wonder if you booked early if they could lock in that price? The rental fee was $3500... which was WAY more than we expected, but again we fell in love with it so we're going to make it work. I'm excited to go back in the spring to see what it will look like around the time of our wedding :o)

ohhh 95$ each is not bad! I am having a hard time find any place under $125. Yeah I am hoping that if we book within the next few months that we will get a better price but who knows!

3500 ekk! that is a lot! is that for both the reception and the ceremony? Sorry for all the questions i just want to be prepared!

It does look like such a beautiful place you must be SO excited!

Thats for the ceremony and reception, it also includes the tented patio for the cocktail hour and where the bar will be during the reception- which we loved!
