Random Wedding Q's

Hey everyone! I have a few random questions for you.

1. Should my jewelry (I'm only wearing earrings & a bracelet) match my headpiece exactly...like should they be a set...? Or is it ok to have just my earrings and bracelet match and then get a headpiece that is similar but not in the EXACT same set?

2. Does your father plan to (or did he) give a toast at the reception?

3. About how much should you spend on the gifts for the attendants?

I feel like I have more to ask but that's all I can think of at the moment!

Thanks!

    1. I'd prefer jewelry that is similar in style but not a matching set!

    2. No. Just the best man and MOH did.

    3. I think 50--100 per person. And try not to get things that they have to use for the wedding, like matching earrings or wraps!

I did not have a matching set, but tried to get thigs that were similar. For example, I didn't do diamonds and pearls, just diamonds.

My dad did not give a toast. He isn't into public speaking anyway, but even so I wasn't planning on asking him. Since my DH and I paid for the entire wedding and HM ourselves, we were the hosts of the wedding and therefore my dad had no reason to give a toast.

Depends on your budget and how many attendants you have. But I agree with Sarah on the price range, although I spent a little more on my MOH (who is also my twin sis), but she really deserved it.

    1. I would just do something similar, but not too matchy.

    2. I'm just having my MOH and the Best Man do a toast.

    3. I agree with the price range mentioned above. I'm making a lot of the stuff I'm giving as gifts (the hair pieces they can wear for the wedding if they want, a purse), so I'm not exactly sure of the price point, but I think it'll be somewhere in there.

    1. Similar but not matchy matchy would be my choice.  I actually wore the diamond stud earrings I always wear, a simply swarovski necklace, and a diamond tennis bracelet that DH gave me the day of the wedding.

    2. No, my dad does not like to speak in front of crowds, and DH and I paid for everything anyways.  MOH, Bestman gave toasts and then DH welcomed everyone and thanked them for coming.

    3.  we spent about $70 on each guy.  For the girls, we bought them swarovski necklaces while we were in Switzerland last year.  With the exchange rate, I think they probably were about $75 and then we paid for everyones hair and makeup.  The necklaces were not given with the idea they would wear them to the wedding, each girl at some point had mentioned liking swarovski stuff.  But they all ended up wearing them, and a few wore them to the rehearsal dinner as well.

My necklace, tiara, and earrings matched but my bracelet was separate. It coordinated very nicely though :)

No, Daddy didn't give a toast. The only ones who toasted were the MOH and the BM. We gave our thankyou speech at the rehearsal dinner.

I think I paid between $50 and $75 for each of my girls' gifts. I bought them bit by bit over time so it wasn't a huge slam to the checkbook all at once.

    1. I am wearing a matching set for both outfits. I am doing hair accessories, but neither one is from the same set of my jewelry.

    2. No. My mom, in laws and grandparents will be doing speeches at the ceremony. At the reception will be the BP.

    3. I am planning to spend about $50-$100 on my attendants. Three of my girls are my sisters, and the other 2 are my dearest friends from since middle and elementary school. They all deserve a nice, well thought gift. I am also making a few items (jewelry set, photo album) that they can wear/use the day of and in the future.
