So here's the situation. FI's nieces (6 and 3 and totally adorable), who are my flower girls, live in Australia (where I'm planning on emigrating after the wedding). Since a lot of the wedding will be DIY, my MOH and I came upon the idea of making fabric bouquets for them.
I like the idea, since they can take it with them back home if they want to, and the fabric would definitely match my colors. I want to do it in a lot of different textures and fabrics (velvet, felt and silk mostly) and add vintage and non-vintage buttons to the centers (some buttons from FI's shirts and some from mine and include them in the flowers).
My question here is, does that sound tacky? I mean, it would save us money on a couple of things, and I even considered making the older one's dress since I'm pretty handy with a needle-- but I wanted to know if the other DIY ladies on this board had the same idea.
