Does anyone else feel like they are having the world's greatest birthday party when you see things checkedoff the registry?

...a few of members of my FI's family have not quite figured out that we registered for what we specifically want, and not random things they decide we need (without receipts). My dance troupe talked me off the ledge yesterday with tales from their bridal showers and things they ended up returning or regifting. Has anyone else started experiencing odd registry behaviors from friends or family?
Re: Registry
One of the groomsmen's wife put together this adorable basket with a super cute black and white apron, a bottle of wine, our oven mits we registered for, a picture frame with the state of Pennsylvania and a heart over Pittsburgh (where the wedding is at) and included our names and wedding date, and an Irish "make-up" bell. While only the oven mits were on our registry, she put so much thought into it, made it with the red and black theme, and I loved it!! I know getting random useless things without receipts is frustrating though, just remember they are excited to celebrate with you and that is all that matters

Planning Bio
I went out and bought an outfit for that day so when my fiance tells me that I have till 1pm to be presentable, i don't have to have a wardrobe melt down.
My BM already told me that they don't know in the world they will get me there with it still being a secret.
Now that I see things being bought I get really excited and keep stalking it!
