As black folks sometimes we can do things a little bit backwards. My FI asked me to marry him without the ring because he was still paying on it. So we bought a house and have been living together for over a year with our children by previous marriages. As I waited patiently
I was wondering whether I was just going to have a wedding band. Well the wait is over and it came with the sweetest proposal. This is how it went down. My FI told me his best friend was coming over to play cards with a 'new" partner because his regular partner couldn't make it. So I thought ok that's fine. When the "new" partner arrives we all sit down and get ready to play spades. Right before I deal the cards my FI decides he wants to make a toast to kicking their butts in cards lol, but he needed the "new" partner's help to make the toast. The "new" partner says "I want to toast to good friends , good folks and good music." The new partner then begins serenading me with "In you I found perfect love." I never noticed that my children had come into the room and were filming the whole thing! As the "new" partner is singing my FI comes over , gets down on one knee and proposes. I knew the proposal was coming soon, but I never imagined he would have anyone seranade me. It was beautiful. The funny part was the "new" partner revealed later he was scared to death I was going to actualy start dealing the cards because he didn't know how to play LOL. He was only hired to sing. My FI said he always wanted to do a Martin and Gina. LMBO!
