Tag Line?

Do you think it's possible for us to give a little more info in the subject line so we can quickly scan for things we want to post on?  I'm not trying to be picky just more efficient with time and energy.  I need as much as I can get for the planning itself.  I'll hush up if everyone disagrees. that's pretty funny.

have you lurked much on the NC board? while sure totally abstract subjects can be... just that. most people looking for anything specific do post specific titles. so since you seem pretty purpose driven you should be fine just clicking on those with the specific subjects. a lot of us post here for not so specific planning sorts of things. there is a whole community of us who keep up with each other for years on here and in that time there is a lot of getting to know and many posts that aren't so goal oriented. for most this is a place for distraction, thus long, unrelated (NWR) abstract posts and subjects.

BUT, with that said, for posts that are very planning oriented specific subjects would be helpful, sure. just know that is not what you will find overall.

and we could all be mindful to write NWR in the subject on posts that are in fact not wedding related. that would also be helpful.

    Ditto Kristy....

And I find it amusing that you think all the women on this board are going to change the way we post things so you can determine better "which posts you want to reply to" There are alot of people on this board, and it doesn't seem to bother anyone else (from what I can tell)

The women on this board talk about more things than weddings, and just chat in general about how their planning is going, it isn't always going to be a question about planning. I would suggest if you have a specific question about something, you should post your own question and you can tag it in the subject however you'd like. I think that would be more helpful than searching thru tons of posts to find a similar question and hope it also applies to your situation.

if you are looking for something and can't find it then just ask....im sure you could have fired off several questions in the time it took you to write this ridiculous post!

Ok, so I should have been more clear in my original post...

I had heard that you can get vendor reviews on TheKnot.com and maybe the posts aren't the best way to find it. (is there another place on knot besides the "vendors" section?)  I don't like repeating myself nor do I want to make others repeat themselves especially if someone has already asked about the vendor I am curious about.  That was my rationale behind an improved tag line process.  (It would sure help us newbies who are unfamiliar with the site and what all it has to offer)  So, I was trying to be helpful and not hurtful.  Please don't judge my post b/c it comes from not understanding how you all operate.  It's not like the website comes with instructions...plus I just figured you had Facebook to babble about NWR stuff.  I didn't realize that you all stayed on afterwards.  Sorry.

I truly appreciate your response kristyandruss in that you were sincerely explaining how it works and not attacking me about my request.

Elizabeth, as far a certain review for a vendor, NC bride bio is a great source.
    http://www.ncbridebio.com/

Also, don't hesitate to ask any question you have.  Even if the question has been address earlier, most people here have no problem helping out again.

I don't believe people mean to "attack" you.  The girls on this board are really sweet, and yes we like to post information that is NWR.  Once you have been posting on here for a while (and I can't say much, I have only been posting for about 4 months) you will find that these girls are more than just wedding and vendor reviews, we are friends to each other and welcome anybody who wants to share in that.  We even plan get togethers just so we can meet each other personally.  The girls want to get to know you and support you during this wonderful, but sometimes stressful time.  This is a place to get all your wedding help, and to also get away and vent.

So with that all said, congrats and welcome to board.  Good luck with all your planning!

Sometimes the "Search Boards" function at the bottom of the page works...and sometimes it doesn't.  But if you are looking for a specific vendor, you might try searching for that vedor.  I think it finds words within posts as well as in the titles.

If that doesn't work, people post "repeat" questions on here all the time, and no one seems to mind.  Obviously if there is a post a few down from yours about the same thing, that might be wierd, but as long as the same question hasn't been asked in a little whle, people will still be willing to answer and help you out!

Re: the NC Bride Bio -- it is a good place to see good reviews on vendors.  If a vendor isn't on there, it could either mean no one has reviewed them, or they got bad reviews and were removed, so thats when I would post a question on here.  The Knottie who maintains the Bio doesn't post bad reviews on there, she just removes the vendor from the list so they are no longer "recommended".  Hope that helps!

Wanting to chime in. . . . be sure to check with Better Business Bureau too about vendors. While personal referrals are AWESOME, checking the BBB can just give you that much more confidence in your vendor.

There are many board favorites so if you've got questions, ask away.

I also have to agree with others, no one was 'attacking' you for your post.  It's just that we're all like a giant family here and we talk about anything from Furbabies to Tiaras and everything inbetween.

Lurking around for a little while can do a lot as far as giving you a good feel for the board and how it operates too.

NC Bride Bio is also AMAZING and you'll find many many reviews.

Welcome to the board and congrats!! Be sure to introduce yourself so that we can all give you a good 'hello and welcome!'

    Cheers!
