My wedding is in the city, and the church doesn't have a parking lot. Street parking is like $2 an hour, and our ceremony will be a Catholic ceremony without a mass, so not all that long.
We're paying for parking at the reception, and trying to arrange a shuttle to run between the reception and the hotel (where 3/4 of our guests are likely staying) to limit the need for designated drivers.
So here's my question. Should I put something on our wedding web site warning people that street parking at the church isn't free, and that given the limited parking, we recommend people carpool or consider taxis? It's only a mile and a half, and the cab ride won't be expensive.
Should I not mention anything?
Or should I just try to arrange the shuttle to run from the church to the hotel, for the extra $300 or so it'll cost?
I guess I know the last option is probably the kindest to our guests, but I'm wondering if it's really necessary...
TIA!
