April 2012 Weddings

Need good vibes!

I got contacts back in September in anticipation of the wedding, which seemed to be a lot better (i.e. cheaper and safer) option than laser surgery.  It was really iimportant to me that I did NOT want to walk down the aisle wearing glasses but that I DO want to see the look on my fiance's face.  I was doing fine with the contacts, but recently started having problems, and after being seen by my eye doctor and told it should resolve on its own, continued to have symptoms and tried going back today, but had to see a substitute doctor who couldn't really help me so I won't know any more until the regular doctor is back on Monday.  I REALLY don't do well when a situation worries me and I can't do anything about it!  So I'm going to be going bonkers until Monday.  Help please, I really need some good vibes that everything works out okay!  I've been loving how I look and feel without glasses and I especially absolutely had my heart set on not needing glasses to see at my wedding!
Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.

  • Thanks!  When I saw the regular doctor he wasn't quite sure what caused the irritation in my eye so now that it doesn't seem to have resolved on its own hopefully that will help him figure out what's going on.  I'm thinking -- hoping -- it's just severe seasonal allergies or something that will get better if I go without contacts for a couple weeks and then I can wear them again.  I just feel kind of jinxed because I had to give up on contacts about ten years ago due to a scar they noticed on my one eye, until this doctor said he could fit me with a different type of contacts that would be okay for the scar.  It would be just my luck that I find out I can't wear the other type of contacts either, when it's too late to get laser surgery before the wedding!

  • good luck! i hope it works out for you! my eyes have been terrible lately. have an appointment next week! i think i need contacts!
  • I hope it all turns out all right.  My eye sight has actually been getting worse lately too, I just need glasses for distance.  But i have been thinking of going to the eye doctor to get contacts, because I don't want to wear my glasses on my wedding day and want to see FI at the end of the aisle instead of a blur.
  • I've worn contacts for 18 years (wow...I just now realized it's been that long), and mine have been really irritated lately, most likely from seasonal allergies.  Or maybe you could try a different brand?  My sister had to try about 4 different brands before she found some that didn't drive her crazy.

My fingers will be crossed for you that this resolves itself and you can wear them for the wedding!
