Do I have to respond to RSVP emails?

I am receiving lots of rsvps by email. In addition to responding whether they are attending or not, people tend to write little messages like "congradulations" and "all the best". Do I have to respond to these emails? If someone writes a longer message should I respond? thanks!

Re: Do I have to respond to RSVP emails?

  • I would just respond with a "Thank You.  Can't wait to see you"  or something of that sort.

  • Don't you normally respond to personal emails?  You should do the same with your RSVPs.  Also, it's nice to respond even with a simple "Thanks" so that the responders know that your received their RSVP (and it didn't go into Spam).
  • Yes, if I sent an RSVP e-mail, I would definitely want to know the sender received it.

  • Do they really say, "congradulations"?

    Awesome.

To answer your question, yes , I would respond with a quick "Thanks for your response, we look forward to seeing you" to let them know you received the e-mail and it didn't get spam-blocked.
  • I think that if you requested emailed RSVP's that it's a simple sacrifice you're going to have to make by reply to each one of them.  If you didn't request emails, it's still a simple note back saying thanks.  Not too much of a big deal.
