Do I have to respond to RSVP emails?

I am receiving lots of rsvps by email. In addition to responding whether they are attending or not, people tend to write little messages like "congradulations" and "all the best". Do I have to respond to these emails? If someone writes a longer message should I respond? thanks!

    I would just respond with a "Thank You.  Can't wait to see you"  or something of that sort.

    Don't you normally respond to personal emails?  You should do the same with your RSVPs.  Also, it's nice to respond even with a simple "Thanks" so that the responders know that your received their RSVP (and it didn't go into Spam).

    Yes, if I sent an RSVP e-mail, I would definitely want to know the sender received it.

    To answer your question, yes , I would respond with a quick "Thanks for your response, we look forward to seeing you" to let them know you received the e-mail and it didn't get spam-blocked.

    I think that if you requested emailed RSVP's that it's a simple sacrifice you're going to have to make by reply to each one of them.  If you didn't request emails, it's still a simple note back saying thanks.  Not too much of a big deal.
