Hotel suggestions for out of town guests

Hi everyone,

My reception venue is in Lincoln Park and I just got some info at 3 hotels in the area. I'm wondering if having a downtown hotel would be a good idea as a second location.

Any suggestions on places to look into to block some rooms? I'm hoping to find a hotel that would give a group rate under $150 a night for summer.

Can I ask which LP hotels you're recommending?

I'd definitely add another hotel that is downtown; that way if guests are interesting in sightseeing while they're here; they'll be accessible to everything, especially since you're getting married on a Friday.  They may hangout for the weekend!

    No suggestions though, sorry!

The Belden-Stratford in the middle of Lincoln Park. Our wedding reception is just west of there in LP so I thought it would be nice to have everything kind of around there. The Days Inn and the Inn at Lincoln Park had almost the same pricing as the Belden-Stratford, but the rooms at B-S are nicer and the people friendlier...plus I was always planning on our suite being there.

I was thinking about looking at Hotel 71 for pricing, and didn't know if there were any other downtown spots that might work out well...the wedding is a Friday night so I figured that people would make a weekend out of it to site see...especially since many have never been to Chicago.

I agree, it's nice to have an option for guests to stay near the venues...but if they're going to stay the weekend; I'd also think they'll want to go downtown too?  Hotel 71 is a nice hotel and in a great location!  Plus it's really close to Lake El stop, which is convenient

I am doing mine at the Courtyard Marriott Downtown, my rate is 171. Its a bit more but the rooms are really nice and its located between Michigan and State.

I had a block of rooms at the Silversmith Hotel downtown and they were really accomodating. The rate was $149 a night.
