DIY Shoe Dyeing?

I found some really cute, dyeable shoes on clearance at Payless a few weeks ago.  I'm having a hard time finding a shoe repair store that will dye them pink.  Has anyone dyed shoes themself?  I found some dye to purchase online, but am nervous to try!  Otherwise, do you know of a shoe store in the KC area (preferable Kansas side) that will do this?

Thanks!

I totally just found a Knottie's blog last night that has DIY shoe dying! I don't have the link irhgt now (@ work) but as soon as I get home, I'll put it here! :-)

FWIW, she "said" (in her bio) that it was pretty easy!

    Found it!

It's at the bottom. This is from Knottie TheSaltyPeanut's bio:

We had shoes dyed for a prom outfit several years ago...we went to the shoe repair place at the SE corner of College & Antioch, right across from JCCC...sorry I don't recall the name.  It's located around the corner (same building) as Tequila Harry's.  He did the shoes as well as a purse and they turned out great.  I would be afraid of doing a dye job myself, but maybe that's just me.

Thanks to both of you for the help!  I might check out the place at College and Antioch...that's very near my house!  And if that doesn't work, I'll follow that blog and try it myself!  Thanks girls! =)

Ooops...sorry...it's actually College & QUIVIRA!  Hopefully, the clue that it is right across from JCCC and near Tequila Harry's will steer you correctly...sorry!
