Menu question

So as I'm sure most of you know a lot of places add an extra (very) small fee for adding a choice of two entrees.  However, even though it is small it does add up.  I was wondering what the thoughts were about only offering one entree and not having a choice.  Obviously if we went this route we would pick a chicken dish and nothing crazy that someone may not like.  But what are the thoughts?  Has anyone only offered one entree?  Thanks so much in advance!

I voted for 2 just because it's really nice to give 2 options. BUT the best wedding food I've ever eaten was at my FBIL's wedding and it was just carved turkey. It was sooo good and I didn't even really notice that there were no other options. Just be sure you find out if there are any vegetarians on your guest list and be sure to accommodate them.

We are stuck on this decison right now. What I am doing is asking some of my family and friends, what they would choose. Most said they would choose the stuffed chicken breast and only 2 said the other choice. So at this point is it worth to pay $4 extra a person to have a 2nd option?

Our wedding coordinator suggested we do a "duet" which is a small portion of 2 different entrees.  That way if your guests don't like one item on the plate they can eat the other option (plus whatever sides you have).  Our venue was extremely flexible and worked with us to find something we thought went well together but still was different enough to provide guests a choice.  I would talk to you caterer or venue and see if they might be willing to do something similar!

I personally chose #2 as well... I am super picky, and I would appreciate having two choices

Another thing to think about is the possibility of a few of the guests having food allergies. I'm sure stuffed chicken would be yummy, but I can't eat wheat so I would not be able to try it. Things like wheat allergies are a little more common now too, but if you have a small guest list you would probably know if someone had that problem. I also debated what to do about 1 or 2 entrees, but I think we'll do 2.

Thanks for all the input!  I think we are probably going to go with the 2 option route.  It may cost more money, but I don't want anyone going hungry because they can't/don't like the food we picked.  Thanks again.
