I had some downtime at work and in the 18 months I have been on the knot I have never really looked at the other boards so I decided to kill some time.  I just wanted to say that I think we have some of the nicest knotties out there!  I just read some pretty harsh posts on the other boards and glad you all are so nice!

    Yeah a lot of other boards are really catty and unhelpful.  I only hang out here and at the African American Weddings Board.

    I agree totally! The ladies on the DC board seem to be among the nicest. I used to check the Baltimore board often (the venue where I got married was considered the Balitmore area by The Knot, even though it is in Carroll County, Md.) The women on that board weren't so nice.

    One day I posted something on the Etiquette board and got some of the meanest, rudest and unhelpful replies! The "women" who post on that board really need etiquette lessons!!

    I posted a message on the DC board a few weeks ago thanking everyone for being so nice and helpful throughout my engagement. DC ladies must really have class, intelligence and tact!

    Yeah, I always find it ironic that the Etiquette board has some of the rudest posters around.  Fortunately, a lot of the smaller boards I'm on (this one, the Boston one, the one for my month, the Jewish weddings one, the gay weddings one, and the second weddings one) seem to have a lot less drama.

    Why are they so mean?   It is so unnecessary. YES!  The worst offenders are on the Ettiquette board.  How ironic. 

    I tend to lurk here, and post from time to time and contribute more frequently to the Afrrican American Bride Board.  I am so happy to have a safe, secure, supportive environment where there are no dumb questions, no name calling, and I do not have to risk persecution.

    Oh! and I think it is a testament to the way the moderator runs the board.  That sort of catty behavior helps no one.

    I've been on for about a year and half or so, and I'm  beginning to see an increase in posts that just don't seem to make sense,  there is no siggy or picture, and the "poster" has, like, 1 post...but it says they were "members since 2007" or something like that!

    I've lurked on the DC board before, but this is my first post here...I usally post on the Baltimore Board, April Month Board and a few of the speciality boards...but I must say, I like the kindness on the DC board that I'm seeing!
