So while I stalled in the DIY department this weekend due to an uncooperative bit of ribbon and a tin pail, I did get one thing done: Picked up the 7' 5" tall arbor FI's father made! FI's is 6'4" tall so he fits!!
It's handmade out of cedar and has been sitting on pallets out in his fields (FFIL is an organic farmer!) uncovered for the last decade. So I offered to take it off his hands. It's turned all gray like cedar does in the weather. And he offered to have the two broken dragonfly ceramic medallions replaced with whatever we want (I'm getting frogs if at all possible - or geckos) from the guy who makes them at the farmer's market. Now my dad is picking it up from my house today and power washing it to return it to its cedar color glory. I told him I could handle the power washer but its new - dad wants to play with his new toy - so he said to just let him do something for my wedding for cripes sake! (Love my dad for being so concerned that he hadn't 'contributed' enough! Let's hope that attitude sticks around through Sept.!)
And the tin pail is not off the hook yet. I'm getting out my paint this afternoon. Got a deadline to meet!

Anyone else get anything done this weekend?
