Private Home Rentals- Maine Coast

Hi- I am looking for any information on private home rentals for ceremony/reception for coastal properties in Maine.  If you have any experience and/or contacts, please let me know.  Thanks so much!

    Try VRBO.com and Homeaway.com.  These sites were very helpful in me finding my venue and rental properties for guests.  We are not on the coast, but in the mountains and I am so excited to have our event there.  The house is amazing and will be so much fun.  It's called Skiesta (you can google it or find it on facebook) and there is also another house up there called the Glen House just in case you decide to expand your search beyond the coast.  This is in the mountains/ski area of Newry/Bethel.

    We are getting married at the botantical gardens in boothbay, then we've rented a home on westport island for the week.  That is where we're holding the reception.  Like chrispygal, we used homeaway.com to find "our" house in mid-coast.  The owner has been SUPER helpful during the planning process.  This is the first time her house is being used for a wedding.  I'm getting married in 11 days (!!!!!!), so I'll be able to tell you all about the positives and negatives (hopefully none!) after that.  If you have specific questions, feel free to PM me or ask here.

    You can also check with a rental company www.onthewaterinmaine.com  They have many places to choose from.  Good luck!
