This will probably crash and burn, judging by the acitvity level on this board lately, but whatever, I don't care.
I'm annoyed today. Let's talk about what annoys us.
What annoys you:
- at work?
- about your FI/H/SO?
- about the NC board?
- about other Knot boards?
- about your neighborhood?
- about your car?
- about your family?
- about politics?
Re: Annoyance Poll
What annoys you:
- at work? my officemate who thinks it's okay to clip his nails, trim his beard, slurp his coffee, and tweeze his eyebrows IN the office
- about your FI/H/SO? he cracks his knuckes all the time, whenever I hear it it makes me cringe
- about the NC board? that it has been so slow
- about other Knot boards? I don't like it when someone post a question, you answer, and they never come back to say thanks, or to comment again...maybe that is just me though
- about your neighborhood? My neighborhood is just one small loop of townhouses that is off a busy road. I want more of a real neighborhood where I can go for walks/ running. Also before we have kids we want a bigger place so there is plenty of space for both Grandmoms to come help out!
- about your car? that it has too many miles for a 2007
- about your family? well my mom was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer and that is really annoying, so I guess it's not my family that annoys me in this one but the stupid cancer!
- about politics? I don't even want to get into this one today
That felt good to get some of that out but it also makes me feel really whiny. Oh well!
- at work? When people try to give me the answer they think I want to hear, instead of telling me what's actually happening. It wastes my time and I always figure out what's actually happening anyway.
- about your FI/H/SO? He can't manage to put anything back where he finds it. If he picks something up, that's the one place he won't put it back down.
- about the NC board? Kind of the same as Jenni's other TK board annoyance. If you come here to ask a question, then never even acknowledge you received answers it makes me feel like I've wasted my time trying to be helpful.
- about other Knot boards? This goes for all TK boards. I get irrationally annoyed when people post "HTH" at the bottom of their posts (unless it's obviously sarcastic). Because really, of course you "hope this helps", why else would you have posted anything at all? I also get annoyed when people put "ETA: spelling", really, you "edited to add" spelling, you didn't have spelling before? Neither of these are significant at all, but they always bug me.
- about your neighborhood? I don't even know where to start. I'll just say this; we're billed each month for rent. We pay $5/month for the "pleasure" of being billed by an outside agency. Our bill has been wrong the past few months. If I'm paying you extra to do something that should be included, you best get it right.
- about your car? My windshield is dirty.
- about your family? They aren't planners. Drives.Me.Nuts.
- about politics? I'm annoyed at our NC General Assembly for getting together in the last week and flying through so much legislation. Some of it is done well, but a lot of it seems hasty and not well thought out. I wish they'd take their job that seriously all the time, and not just at the end of a session, maybe there would be better laws.
- at work? A girl that I thankfully do not have to work with when we got back to work in August. (It's an after school center that's closed for the summer)
- about your FI/H/SO? When he's grumpy.
- about the NC board? No one ever posts.
- about other Knot boards? Some of the things people post.
- about your neighborhood? I live in an apartment and the yard work guys come EVERY day for only about 10 minutes. I have no idea what they do out there because the grass hasn't been cut in 2 weeks.
- about your car? It makes a crazy noise and it's black so it's always hot.
- about your family? Nothing right now.
- about politics? I don't pay attention to politics.

<div>I'm glad you said this. I always put "edit" instead of "ETA" because I had no idea what ETA meant and I didn't want to ask anyone haha</div>

Ha I always thought it meant "happy to help" and was always wondering why do they put that? I don't think someone would answer if they weren't happy to help. I guess "hope this helps" makes a little more sense, but I agree with you if you weren't hoping that would you still post?

and "edit" makes it make more sense, but unless you're changing your post for clarity, or adding information, it's not always necessary. If everyone had to put an edit on every post they went back and changed the spelling on, it'd be terrible. My process usually goes like this: -type post, -hit submit, -hit edit, -hit spellchecker, -fix spelling, -re-read, -re-submit. I'm not so good at catching my letter transpositions before they're initially posted, I'm not going to tell you every time this happens.
- at work?
tattle tales
- about your FI/H/SO?
doesnt take the trash out, he chews his nails, and he chomps ice while we're watching tv.
- about the NC board?
nothing really
- about other Knot boards?
some gals can be plain rude
- about your neighborhood?
nothing
- about your car?
just the car pymt. (got a new car in April)
- about your family?
they don't even ask me about the wedding planning and sure haven't offered to help. (I know its my second marriage but still)
- about politics?
tired of my tax dollars going to help people that don't even want to help themselves.
- at work? people who think that their needs are more important than whatever I'm working on and can I please drop what I'm doing and address their needs NOW
- about your FI/H/SO? the way he does housework... at a snails pace. No wonder you hate cleaning, it takes you an hour to do the dishes! part of me thinks he does it just so I will get annoyed and insist on doing it instead
- about the NC board? its kind of quiet except for the same few people (no offense to those folks!)
- about other Knot boards? brides who feel the need to give you the exact specs on their ring... lets draw the line at style and stone cut, its just kind of obnoxious (and yes, I realize my siggy is my ring... )
- about your neighborhood? I live in 2nd floor apartment and my downstairs neighbors are the biggest whiners ever, they leave nasty notes on my door on a weekly basis complaining that they can hear me and the dog walking around... uhm hello, its an apartment... I can hear the people above me too. get over it and leave me alone.
- about your car? it's kind of a gas hog and has too many blind spots
- about your family? my brother, he's pretty much a jerk... if he wasn't my brother, I probably wouldn't talk to him
- about politics? that some people attack you over your political beliefs and try to pass it off as debating... debating is intelligent, telling me I'm an idiot because I voted differently than you is NOT debating
- at work? Im not working at the moment due to school. Once schools done for the summer (next tuesday!) I'll restart. I get really annoyed in the heat though, because too much heat screws me up and it's not good for the horses either
- about your FI/H/SO? Right now? Hmmm that's hard. I suppose if it had to be something, probably the fact that I'm trying reallly really hard to coupon and save money. He knows this. However instead of giving me a day or two to get a grocery list together and find the right coupons, he's like "We have to go to the store TODAY!" lol. Whoops. We saved 12 bucks vs our 80 dollar savings last shopping trip.
- about the NC board? It's WAY too slow. When I was planning, this place was crazy busy and full of anything and everything wedding as well as everyday conversations. Where'd everyone go? Stupid Nest!!!
- about other Knot boards? Stereotypes about particular boards. Some of them are pretty amusing though.
- about your neighborhood? The land developer went under two years ago. We're really hoping the neighborhood beside us buys the land and builds in the next two years. Its great having two neighbors and peace and quiet. However if we ever have to sell, at this point we're going to be taking a big hit.
- about your car? No annoyances at all. I love Izzy!!
- about your family? My brother is a douche and a crap father. Dh and I want to adopt my niece, but we're not exactly sure out to go about this. We may just start with guardianship while he's deployed.
- about politics? A LOT about politics annoy me. Flush the system and restart please.
Oh well
Beka do you thiknk the other boards are amusing or the stereotypes are amusing?
[QUOTE]Psh, Harmony thinks I talk to much. Oh well ;) Beka do you thiknk the other boards are amusing or the stereotypes are amusing?

Lol it's too early for tricky questions.
Actually I think it's both.
I think some stereotypes are over exaggerated and unneeded while others are pety and harsh. However in retrospec it's the internet and who gives a flyin flip. You just have to be able to roll with it. And simply because an individual may post on a board that has a stereotype, doesnt mean the individual conforms to that stereotype.
Does that make any sense? I'm half asleep again.
- at work?
How the majority of people talk on their phones with their office doors open and on speaker...sometimes I can't even think.
- about your FI/H/SO?
How he gets really stressed out if something doesn't work out exactly how he wants it to - not really in a bad way, just if I don't think it's a big deal, he gives himself a harder time than if I were to get mad at him about something.
- about the NC board?
I feel like it might be slow because a lot of the regs are married, so right now it's more of a place to get advice and to not really discuss everyone's different plans.
- about other Knot boards?
No offense, but I do kind of mean offense...but it bugs the mess out of me that a lot of Northerner and Canadians throw pre-wedding parties that are like a wedding reception to raise money to pay for the wedding.
- about your neighborhood?
Well...this isn't really about our "neighborhood" but out lease is up June 30th and our stupid apartment wouldn't let us stay until our house (renting) is available Sept. 1st, so we have to sublet for 2 months. Well we found a great sublet and apparently we didn't fill out the paperwork fast enough - sorry I have a full time job and FI is studying for the bar - so she reposted the ad and found somebody else to live there!!
- about your car?
Umm...it's existance? The automatic locks don't work anymore - the clicker or the actual button, so you have to manually do it...the side door fabric is falling off....but probably most that the AC doesn't work...Yes, I know, I need a new car but for me wedding /> car
- about your family?
Ever since my parents got divorced (beacuse my dad had another affair), he's been very whoa is me and debbie downer and is really mean to my mom for no reason and then wonders why she doens't want to talk to them...it really drives me insane especially since my mom is incredible.

<div>This! This! This!!</div><div>
</div><div>FI and I just moved to the Raleigh area from Michigan on Saturday and this is EXACTLY how our neighborhood is. I've been "lurking" on this board a bit hoping to get an idea of what the area is like. So far we are really loving it (except for the crazy drivers). This just make me laugh out loud, so I had to comment :)</div>

Welcome to NC! I'm just down the road in Durham. Everyone says there are crazy drivers here (which I agree) but I use to live in Boston and there were some really crazy drivers there too. Basically I just think there are crazy drivers every where.
