Black linens and uplighting - afraid it will look too dark.

We are doing black pintick table linens with black chiavari chairs and ivory chair pads and napkins.  The centerpieces will also be white and we'll have candlelight in the table. 

We want to do uplighting but I'm scared that since the linens will be so dark, that the whole room will be dark if we dim the lights to make the uplighting really pop.  So I'm torn on the color for my uplights - if I go with fuschia, I feel it'll lookway too dark...and if we go with a light amber to try and lighted it up, I feel like I'm not getting enough impact. 

What do you girls think?

    First of all, i love the choice of colours!

    Have you tried with a pink? Fuschia is darker and won't probably show as much. A play between pink and amber should be nice. Talk to whoever's in charge of your uplighting!

    We are using black pintuck linens and black chivaris too, except with green cushions to bring some color into it.  See my bio for our recent table mock up. For lighting, we are using amber. My FI is also against any shades of pink or purple so I didn't have much of a choice.  

    I think the effect depends on what your rooms looks like.  Our room is very neutral with beige walls and carpet, so it won't be so dark.  We also have a large room, so we are using the dark linens to make it feel more intimate.  I would look into mixing the amber with the fuschia like Jen said to bring in more color while also not making the room too dark.

    I think it will look fine and very elegant. Maybe do a brighter color then. Im doing black linens and a tiffany blue uplight. Although there will be some natural light coming in until it gets dark outside and I imagine it to look awesome.
