Vinwood vs Cloverleaf catering

I am planning a wedding at Smith Barn and have narrowed it down to Vinwood Catering and Cloverleaf Catering.  What are people thoughts on them?

A friend of mine used Vinwood several years ago when she got married and loved them!  She's recommended them to me so many times that we now have an appointment with them in April.  The only thing that turns me off to them is that they don't do tastings.  I feel like it's kind of arrogant not to allow a tasting when the customer is spending thousands.  They get rave reviews all around though.
    I've never heard of Cloverleaf.

I didn't know that about Vinwood, I know Cloverleaf doesn't do a formal tasting just gives a sample box of some options.  They both seem to be priced around the same, btu wanted to get some feedback on how food tasted, presentation of food, working with them.  Just as much info as I can get.

Depending on which venue I pick, If I have to choose a caterer I am going to go with Cloverleaf ...her food is delicious and she does a wonderful job .. friends and family have been to many events where she has catered and have never heard one complaint ... when is your wedding?

I haven't booked a day yet but looking at spring 2012 at Smith Barn.  The one thing I like is that everything is included in their per person price and you have the option of doing an ice cream sundea bar which I think will go great with our cupcakes.  Do you recommend plated or buffet, I am thinking that the barn is casual and plated might seem to formal.

Well what I have heard about is the buffet. What I think I am going to do is buffet with one carving station of I believe prime rib. I love the idea of the ice cream bar I think thats a wonderful idea. Smith Barn is a wonderful venue very pretty, they didnt have my date there. I think buffet would be fine.... maybe even through in a carving station like I am thinking of doing. She seems like she is very flexible and willing to work anything out.
