E-pics Dress

The word "dress" isn't really in my vocabulary.  Yes, I'm that kind of girl - you know, the kind that's not really... girly.  I rarely shop for clothes because it usually results in a lot of frustration and self-loathing, so I really need some help on e-pic attire.

I really like the cotton dresses a lot of girls wear, but they tend not to have enough structure for me and aren't cut to fit my body type (wide hips but small chest... so I have to buy something big enough to fit the hips, and then its HUGE in the chest).  I went to Nordstrom's this weekend and found this dress that I think makes me look halfway decent:

Is this TOO dressy?  I figured we'd wear "nicer" clothes for part of the shoot and then change into jeans and maybe a lightweight sweater from A&E.

I don't think so.  I mean, it's dressy but I don't think overly so.  Just keep your jewelry to a minimum.

I complete agree. Make sure your fiance wears something smiliarly nice, though, or it may look too dressed up. I think it's beautiful!

Thank you!  Definitely will keep the jewelry to a minimum.

So do you think FI would need to wear black slacks and a dress shirt if I wear this? If so, he will be THRILLED to learn we are going dress shirt shopping this weekend! LOL

On top of the fancy schmancy dress, I'm getting my hair cut and colored this weekend for the first time in about 7 years and I'm getting my eyebrows threaded next week (oww).  All I need is a mani/pedi and I'll be completely out of my element. Tongue out

(ETA:  Sorry for the long posts. I'm starting to get really, really nervous about this...)

    Don't be nervous--you will have a blast!

You do want to be comfortable though and you will want your FI to be comfortable also.  Some of those really great photos you see actually feel quite awkward when you are posing for them.  I suggest wearing heels you can slip on and off easily and bring flip flops to wear in between.

I think the dress is great for City pics
