Initals for cake - where to buy

I'm interested in purchasing Crystal Letters for the top of my cake... the ones we bought for my sisters wedding were over $200!  Is that a normal price?  Anyways... can someone recommend a place or web site to purchase really good quality initals for the top of my cake?

Go to Michael's.  They're only $30 and you can use a coupon from their website or newspaper circular. $200 for a cake monogram is RIDICULOUS!

yea try michaels or ac moore or any craft store.  if you want to DIY it, check out craft eddy.  he'll make an letter(s) in any font in wood for you and then you can decorate it with rhinestones/paint/jewels/whatever you want essentially!

$200 is ridic.  i looked at those website when we were looking and we jsut chose to get one from michaels for like 9 bucks with coupon!

i thought about doing that Lisa, but everyone told me it wouldnt work!  PLUS TK has an extra 15% off anything right now so that will make them cheaper!

I got mine from crafty eddy and it was only $15.00 (with shipping) and then decorated it myself.  It came out awesome and everyone loved it!

Personally I'd rather pay $200-$250 for a cake topper that is exactly what I wanted in terms of crystals, pearls and other accessories and doesn't look like a DIY project.  I'm not crafty at all and I cannot imagine what I'd "create."  I had mine made at www.topperswithglitz.com. Photos of my finished cake topper are in my bio (link below).  Sari is great to work with and can personalize your topper in any way you want.

It worked fine for me... I just used all purpose craft glue and some tweezers to do them.. I chose not to jewel the entire surface, but you could.

I was happy with how they came out, as I too didn't want to spend a ton of money for something that I have no use for now... I used the swarovski crystals, so they would sparkle.
