Wedding Ceremony & Reception Music Discussions

No money to hire band or DJ! Need ideas! Help!

Hello ladies,

I'm a budget bride, but still want special music at my reception and possibly dancing, but I'm not sure how that would work. My thought is to have my Ipod connected to some big speakers that I already own for some music...wedding oldies from the 50s, 60s, 70s!

2 questions:
1. Does anyone own or know of a CD compilation of common wedding reception oldies hits? (Unchained Melody, You Look Wonderful Tonight, for example)

2. Can anyone think of a way that I can incorporate dancing even though I don't have a band or DJ and am having a 3pm wedding reception with finger foods and cake, etc?

Thanks so much!!!
Anniversary

If you're looking for compilation CDs, I would just go to any music store, online or brick-and-mortar, and start browsing.

As for dancing, I would hook the iPod or whatever up, and maybe have a friend announce a first dance. Then, if you keep dancing afterwards, others will dance too, if they want to.
