Bed, Bath & Beyond. We went to the one in Orland Park and they were FANTASTIC! They do anything/everything to help you through it. Depending upon what you register for, they look up freebies, and let's say you registered for $500 worth of calphalon products, you can get a free "so-and-so". It's nice.

Also, if you're doing your registry, and it gets to be closing time, you literally can stay up to 2 hours, if you wanted to. I'm not sure if all BB&Bs do that, but they do in Orland. They also allow you one year returns on any item on your registry, for the price that it appeard on the registery (if you forgot your receipt). They have a special night where they invite new brides/grooms in and you can get 25% off every single item that you want to purchase.

They were a little limited in their glass options, so we're going to also register at Crate & Barrell. They have lots of nice options. BB&B has better pricing on items such as toasters, waffle iron, and other appliances, so we got all of that stuff at BB&B.

    HTH!

We are going to Macys.  They have a lot of sip and scan nights...it's the ONLY way I can get FI interested in going.

So we have 4. I know, I know, you are thinking 4 registeries?! Seriously, we don't have a ton on any of them. I only have 8 things on PB. haha, anyway....

    We registered at:

    - Crate and Barrel: Did one of their events for registering, it was so fun! I really love all their stuff, but my word of caution so far is, don't register too early here. They are very seasonal and some of my stuff is discontinued so I have to keep an eye on it which is a little frustrating, but I would still register there again because I love their stuff! We got a little heart shaped glass bowl at the event. We went to North Ave Chicago Store.

    - Williams-Sonoma: We have a small list here, it is good for like specialty cooking items and we like to cook so we found some neat stuff here they don't have other places. It is a bit pricey though. Registering was easy and they gave us a really nice cookbook just for registering! We registered at 900 North Michigan. We have a pretty small list here.

    - BBB: We just did BBB out of ease for guests, I know they have them everywhere. I tried to put anything that I could on this list (ie if they had the item at both CB and BBB, I would put it on here) so that people could use coupons. We went to the one downtown. They are a little pushy when it comes to trying to get you to register for things you don't want/need. But overall nothing unusual to report:)

    - Pottery Barn:This is where we are registered for our linens. I couldn't find anywhere else that I liked so I figured, whatever, I will have 4 regs. Annoying, I know, but whatever:) Like I said, there are only like 8 or 10 things on here.

Sorry that was so long, but I hope it helps!

I registerd at BBB which was great as others have said and is nice for your guests because they always have coupons you can use (they'll even take expired coupons).

We registered also at Crate and Barrel which I love! Like pp said, don't register too early, or you'll have to re-do a lot.  We tweaked our registry here multiple times but it was no problem.  Also they have a wonderful return policy.  We got two broken items and they took them back with no issues.

We also registered at Bloomingdales which was mainly just for the china/crystal, we had the best help.  She worked with us for hours mixing and matching/laying out different patterns for us to see.  They were very helpful.  I didn't have many guests buy things from here besides my china, I think because not as many people shop here. (They also have a decent return policy. After my shower my china went onsale for a rediculously low price, we returned alll of it and rebought and saved a few hundred dollars!)

Crate and Barrel, BBB, and Target. Not too much at Target because of their return policy, but I wanted my guests to have a lot of option to choose from. By far the most is on the BBB. C&B is the dishes and wine glasses and a few other things.

I recently received an email from C&B about their new return policy, which scares me just a little because I want to use them. The new policy is supposed to be that you only have 30 days after the purchase to return the item. Has anyone had a problem with this? What if someone purchases a gift in advance and we need to return it for some reason.

Hey JessNLane, I posted about that exact same thing on the Registering and Gifts board! I didn't get many replies. I was worried about it, but when I reread the email just now it seems like they are going to be fairly flexible with registrants. I can only hope!

Haven't registered yet but my plans are:

    Macy's (for china/crystal)
C&B (for nice cookware, cool everyday dinner ware)
BBB (for linens and random kitchen gadgets)

BBB, I love them because it was a one stop shop.  China, everyday, cookware, bathroom stuff...there is nothing there that I didn't want or felt anywhere else was that much better that I needed to have multiple places to register at...and, they were very helpful, told me everything up front, I can exchange things whenever, I can go online and add things whenever, I just haven't found anything I do not like about them...

I registered at the usual suspects:  C&B, Macy's, BB&B, but also registered at Amazon.com.

With Amazon, there was free shipping and we could register for some cool stuff for tailgating, video games, and cookbooks.  The prices were pretty competitive and we got a lot of out of towners to use it.

We did Crate and Barrel and Target, and both were amazing!
I'm not sure why Target has gotten such a bad rep, but it was great for us.  We needed to return very few things, but when we did and didn't have a receipt we just printed out our gift log right in Customer Service and they took it back.
Crate and Barrel was great as well!

    We did  BBB and Target.

The registering process was easy at both, but can't comment on the returns.
