Texas-Houston

Houston weather hates my hair.

I am not a fan of Houston weather, at all. It is bearable during the winter months because the humidity is lower, but goodness gracious this summer heat and humidity is killer.

I have wavy/curly hair and there are few products that manage to keep my curls from frizzing. They also cost +15$  a bottle so I only buy them when I need some retail therapy.

Since we are all Houstonians, what do you ladies use to keep the frizz down, and to keep the humidity from messing up your styling?
And now we are as one

I just deal with it. I have to go to Galveston every day so basically I have just learned to live with it.

Paul Mitchell Super Skinny before drying.  It is about $13 a bottle, but it lasts forever.

throw some mouse in my hair while its wet and call it a day! At least thats what i did this morning! I usually straighten my hair though and use Bed Head straightening serum to keep the frizz at bay. If it starts curling up, then up it goes!

I just live with horrible hair since I am not a huge fan of products. I do not think I will ever get used to this humidity.

get it bone dry and straighten it. my hair is always dry because of heat damage... I get trims frequently. I also gladly spend $15+ per bottle on haircare products since they usually work much better than the cheap stuff. stylists love how healthy my hair is (aside from the heat damage).

I moved. haha. Probably not the most reasonable thing to do, and I didn't do it for my hair, but that is what I did :-)

BUT when I am in town, which is every other month or so, I wear it up or use Bed Head frizz-ease. I also got my hair chemically straightened which has worked wonders since my hair is also naturally wavy.

I HATE my hair since I moved to Houston. I'm from west Texas where it is super dry and everyone's hair looks great!

My hair is super curly/wavy and can be so frickin' bushy sometimes. I got my hair cut a few weeks ago and I hate it :-(  Luckily my hair grows fast! They say ppl with curly hair also have dry hair but that is not the case with me, especially in the summer. My hair stays so oily I have to wash every day.

I bought Pantene's new curly to straight shampoo and conditioner and I use the serum too. It seems to work pretty well at keeping friz at bay. I got so tired of dishing out tons of $$$ for hair products that never worked and made my hair super oily. Most straightening shampoos and products have silicone in them.

I used to get my hair chemically straightened (my hair is so amazing afterwards!). But at $400 a pop, forget it!

I just wash my hair now, put some mousse in and let it air dry.

I got the Brazilian Hair Straightener at Saks 5th Ave Salon. I LOVE it! Yes it makes is straight but for 5 months I just washed it every other day and blow dried it enough so it wasn't dripping and let it air dry. It came out perfectly just airdrying, no frizz. Plus i didn't even have to comb my hair because it would just be so silky it would never get knotted. I have really long and thick hair so it cost me $400 but it was worth every penny to walk out in the rain or humidity and my hair not being affected plus now only taking me 5 min. to do my hair and Plus I didn't have to use any hair products but shampoo and conditioner.
If you want your hair curly, I found some stuff called Deva Curl which is great for curly hair but is new so you can really only find it online. Good luck!
