Where to buy a wedding dress?

Hi! Fairly new to the board. I am recently engaged. I want to wait a few months to buy a gown. Before I go, I need suggestions on to where to purchase a dress that is resonably priced in the Pittsburgh area. (I am not into labels-although vera wang is every girl's dream!)

I have heard bad things about David's bridal.

I purchased my dress at the David's in Monroeville and had a wonderful experience there. It really depends on the store and your consultant (mine was Elayne). I also looked at MB Bride in Greensburg- they have a large selection of gowns and are often recommended on here.

I bought mine at MB Bride and had a wonderful experience.  They gave me the experience you often see on "Say Yes to the Dress" and they had the dress I had torn out of magazines.  Nikki is great!!

I bought mine at MB Bride too - Sue is my consultant - she's great!  My sister had luck at David's in Monroeville too...her consultant was Elayne as well - she was a riot ;)

I agree with the MB Bride recommendation!  I got mine there as well!  I haven't had any alterations done yet, so I can't say how they are with that part, but the purchasing end was great.

I bought mine at the David's on Mcknight Road. I had Justin as my consultant and he was wonderful. He was very patient with me and didn't get annoyed that I wanted to try every dress in the store. I did go on a weekday evening to make sure he had time, but he didn't rush me at all.

I bought mine at MB Bride on clearance and it was such a deal! My consultant was Sue and she was great!

I didn't have a bad experience at David's in Monroeville- my consultant was Violet and she was good. I would recommend going on a weekday, though. The place was so packed on a Sunday.

I also briefly looked at Clarissa's in South Side and they definitely had some good deals too.

I didn't really like MBBride... but I think that was just because I really liked the Maggie Sottero dresses, and they had a very limited selection from that designer.  They do have a lot of dresses, I just somehow couldn't find a single one there that I even wanted to try on!  Lol.
I highly recommend Exquisite Bride.  There is a location in Gibsonia and one in Murrysville.  I went to the one in Gibsonia.  They were wonderful!!  Another nice thing is that they do not get commission, so they weren't as pushy and they didn't really care that I tried on 10 dresses and still couldn't decide on one.   Also, they carry different dresses at each location, so if you call and make an appointment ahead of time, if there is a dress from the other store, they can get it there for your appt.  There were four Maggie gowns I'd seen online that I really wanted to try.  Gibsonia had 2 and Murrysville had the other 2, and they were able to get all 4 at Gibsonia for my appointment.  Very helpful!!

The only time I am able to go is on a Saturday or Sunday. My step mother and step sister are coming into town to help me find one. So I guess I will have to brave the crowds.

I like the Clarissa Boutique option, David's Bridal on McNight Road and MB Bride.

I am just worried because I have a hard body to shop for. Plus size, curvy and short. LOL.

What are the best options for brides that are on the bigger side?
