live flowers for centerpieces

What are your thoughts on doing live arrangements--orchids and bromeliads?  I like the idea of not having to worry about them afterwards as the rental company would come to pick them up and take them back.  Some centerpieces will not be rented so they can serve as gifts.  Have you seen/heard rented centerpieces?

I've never heard of that and had no idea that there were people who provided that service.  It's an interesting thought, but I think I'd rather go with traditional purchased centerpieces so I don't have to worry about the condition that they're in at the time of return.  If a guest damages one, I'd hate to end up having to pay for it.

I have seen live centerpieces, but not that were rented.

Home Depot has very pretty potted orchids that I think are under $20.  I bet that would be a similar cost to renting.

I have never heard of rented centerpieces before. I don't know how renting live flowers would work since they will die a few days after being cut.

I've heard of renting centerpieces before. A friend of mine rented candelabras. As long as you check on the health of the plants beforehand, I think that it sounds like a good idea.
