Transportation

So, what is everyone doing?  I love the limo idea, but I'd love a less expensive option.  Is anyone doing anything different?  Is it rude to not provide transportation for your bridal party?  Or, if you are having limos, who did you get a good deal from?

We've got 2 party buses for our guests and a hummer limo for the BP.  We went through S&S limo (they have offices all over CNY/WNY) and got a pretty good deal.  I actually would have loved to do a trolley, but they didn't offer them and I wanted to do all of the vehicles from the same company.

One of my BMs knows someone at Caz Limo and got a great deal on a hummer limo for the b-party, but when I called them last year for a quote for the bus/limo they were ridiculously expensive (and the girl who answered the phone was a snot)... so I guess it depends on who you know and who you talk to.

Oh and yes, I think you should provide transportation for the BP if the ceremony/reception are not at the same place, unless you are only doing like a towncar or something very small for you and the groom... or no transportation at all... but I dunno... maybe that's just me.  I want my WP to be in the limo relaxing and drinking champagne with me not worrying about driving and traffic!!!

Here is what we are doing to save a little....

We are doing all the morning driving around (hair, makeup, etc) ourselves....
we are having everyone park at the reception site... they have rooms there also, so no need to drive anywhere after.    The limo will pick everyone up and bring them to the church, then back to the reception.  We only need the limo for 6 hours (and really only this long b/c it is a 90 min drive between).... so if you had lets say a one hour 2pm ceremony w/ a 30 min drive... you would only need the limo for maybe 4 hours- tops.

Since we will be done with the limo by 530pm, they can still use it for proms, etc that night... so they gave us a really great deal, otherwise it would have just sat in their garage til 6pm anyway, ya know?

So... if you can somehow arrange it so that you only need a few hours and earlier in the day, maybe they can cut their price a bit.  Also, maybe offer to use the same company for b-party (if you're using a limo)... then maybe they'll cut a deal.

Also- check places like living social, and other coupon sites.  I have seen 10% off on living social before.... it's not a whole lot, but every little bit helps.

We dont have a limo or anything special b/c our ceremony and reception are at the same place. The girls will get ready at my moms house and we'll all hop in the soccer mom van and nitro and head on out. All my girls have husbands who are dropping them off so they dont have to worry about driving. The 2 BMs will get ready with Josh, then drop his car off at the hotel and they'll head out together. It all works out for us.

However, my FSIL didnt have a limo between ceremony/reception and I heard a lot of the BP actually appreciated it b/c there was like a 3 hr gap in between so after pics they headed to the bar of their choice for a bit. Their reception was pretty informal, no intros or anything so it didnt seem like a big deal.

I would suggest a limo though, if you have 2 diff locations.

I don't have any suggestions on places yet, cause I haven't booked yet. But we're hoping to rent a bus for the guest... wishful thinking would be a trolly, but probably won't cause the bus is prob going to be like a school bus since they're cheaper and not like a party bus.... and we're thinking of getting one of those antique looking cars for us to get a ride in. The bridal party would take the bus with the other guests.
