We just started planning so everything is still in the works.

We are looking at Club at Sonterra for the reception. We went in for thier Bridal Fair today and loved it. But we still have some more venues to look at.

We like TIffany blue for our color but I'm not sure what other colors to pair it with, suggestions?

We have a pretty good idea of what the groomsmen cake will be. My finance wants his fraternity letters/logo.

I would suggest brown with tiffany blue.  That's what we're doing, and you can find lots of inspiration with blue and brown.

Have you looked at the Luxello Hall? Everytime I drive by there, they have a ton of trash piled up out on the curb. It never goes away.

    Hi Dalia,

Shoot me an email @ nsj327 @ yahoo . com
I have a ton of info on various vendors for indian & american stuff since we're doing a mix of everything to keep both sides happy.
Is your wedding @ the new marriott in the hill country? Do they allow outside catering? My mom is having a fit b/c the westin won't let us bring in anything but sweets & cake from outside.

Hope your planning is going well!!

It seems so far but so close all at the same time, crazy! Curiouse, what is the age range of everyone? I'm 20, my fiance 21, I've been getting ALOT of grief from 'professionals' (Davids Bridal completley ignored me with two seprate apointments). Has anyone else had any crazy stuff happen to them?

    Wedding Date: August 1st

Wedding Ceremony & Reception Venue: the Inn on The Riverwalk (Riverside), And the La Orilla Del Rio Ballroom (Also on the riverwalk!)

A little late to get into the mix, but things are coming down to the wire for me and I've been going it alone as far as support groups go. I think I could use some local advice and I might even have some to dispense.

    Wedding date: 04.30.2010
Ceremony Venue & Reception: The Gardens at Cranesbury View (New Braunfels)
Theme: Arbor Day Garden Party/"Homespun Elegance"
Color Scheme: Navy/Cobalt, pale grey, and hues of spring green

    Wedding Checks:
    - Ceremony/Reception site
    - DJ: DF's co-worker
    - Photographer: Friend of the family
    - Flowers: bought the stuff to make them, have yet to make them though (gonna make paper flowers), also growing some in mom's backyard
    - Caterer: Heavenly Gourmet
    - Cake: small bridal cake by Sweets by Patti
    - STDs & Invitations: designed & sent by me
    - Dress: Alfred Angelo
    - Dess Alterations: Van from Bridal Perfect Fit (SHE'S AMAZING! I originally was lukewarm about my dress, but now I LOVE it!)
    - Shoes: from eBay
    - Jacket for after the sun goes down: Victoria's Secret

    STILL NEED TO:
    - Actually make my flowers
    - Make reception decorations (some potted trees from collected branches & garlands)
    - Make cupcake stands
    - Make wedding favors
    - Make place cards
    - Make cupcakes the night before & frost them the morning of
    - Buy parasols for my BP
    - Buy beer & wine & find a bartender
    - Locate a limo/party bus service (any suggestions would be appreciated)

It feels like I'm missing a bunch of stuff - my mind is bogged down with juggling all the details, so tedious.

BTW, I envy all you gals getting married/doing the reception/staying at JW Marriott Resort! When he proposed that was the first place we called, but they were still heavily under construction and didn't have an event coordinator yet & they didn't even know that construction would be completed in time for our day.

@Dana129: I hear that Top Chef will be filmed at the JW Marriott during the time of your wedding (that's the day after mine!). Wouldn't it be awesome if you got your fifteen minutes of fame and they asked if they could do the catering or something for one of your events?! They do a wedding-related show every season.

    My age: 22

    His age: 24

    Together since: January 25, 2004

    Wedding Date: November 13, 2010

Wedding Ceremony: Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Yoakum

    Wedding Reception: Turner Hall, Yoakum

Wedding Theme (If applicable): Rustic, homemade, etc.

    Wedding Checks:
    Church is booked
Reception hall is booked and deposit is paid
    Cake baker is hired
DJ is booked and deposit is paid
Photographer is book and deposit is paid
Dress purchased; only alterations is needed (tad too long)
Invitations and all other accessories purchased
    Honeymoon booked (and paid for!)
    Videographer booked
Ceremony programs written up (and will be printed by me)

Pretty much have everything done. We are having friends cater for us, so the only cost will be that of the food. The ring bearer's pillow, flower girl's basket, and all the floral decorations (including bouqets, bouts, and corsages) will be made by my sister and I.

I do need a suggestion. My fiance and I can't make up our minds. The ceremony WILL take place at a church, but we can't decide if we want it inside or out. But, I have always wanted an outdoor wedding. :) At our church, we have a very nice Austin Stone gazebo with benches. We also have 3 crosses in a field out in front of the church. If the ceremony is indeed outdoors, I would really like some suggestions for an alternative to the unity candle. If the flame blows out in the middle of the ceremony, that might look kinda bad!!

    Happy planning everyone!!
    -Kristen
