Faux or no?

I'm trying to decide how I want to do my eyelashes. I've never worn faux eyelashes, but I really want a lush look. What did you do/what do you plan on doing? Also, can anyone recommend a great mascara (especially one that's waterproof and still creates lush lashes)?

I am going to get the artificial lashes put on at Salon Soto.  They last a couple weeks.  I've always wanted them.

I've never been able to find a great waterproof and good coverage mascara - can't wait to hear responses on that!

It never occurred to me to wear artificial eyelashes.  I'm pretty low maintenance with my beauty routine though.  I thought I was really dolled up because I had some eyeliner on!  Hah!  That being said, I think I would have felt like a clown with some artificial eyelashes.  I feel the same way about most lipsticks that I have ever tried too.

If your make-up routine is a little more normal than mine, artificial eyelashes probably won't seem so out of place and abnormal for you.  So I say... do it!

I'm kind of interested in the mascara recommendations.  I do actually wear that!  I have noticed differences among brands in terms of smudging.  I have a waterproof maybeline one now that seems pretty good.  I had a revlon mascara about a year ago that was terrible.  I think the wind would smudge that one!  I ended up just throwing it away.  Perhaps it's just me though, but I have never noticed that the ones that advertise making your lashes look longer or fuller seem to be any different than the regular mascaras.

I think that depends on your regular beauty routine.  If you normally wear makeup and want to look more glam for your wedding day, go for it.  But if you are low key with makeup on a regular basis (like me: concealer, mascara, bronzer, done) and don't want to look like a completely different person then maybe stay away.  Everyone wants to look beautiful on their wedding day, but I think *you* should still be visible.

i think as long as they still look a little natural as opposed to like lady gaga-ish then go for it! i've worn fake eyelashes a couple times just going out with friends and everyone just thought i had a really good mascara. lol. as for the mascara recommendations, cant really help you out, sorry. im still struggling with the whole waterproof thing too. lol.

i didnt know you could get eye lashes that last for a few weeks! how much does that cost to get them done at the salon? i might think about doing that

the longer they last the more expensive. You can get them done at mac for like 15$ but you take them off and re use them. Most salons offer individual lashes which can also be taken off. They look very natural. I doubt that any salon will make you look lady gaga-ish for your wedding. Also when you wear false eyelashes they darken and curl so you dont need a lot of mascara,
As for mascara Lancome is by far the absolute best hands down. They have many different kinds including water proof volumizing, curling etc. depending on what you are going for. It can be a lil pricey around $25 a tube, but sometimes they have a gift with purchase or they also give free sample tubes out alot, just ask. Its atl all major department stores so it is easy to find.
