HELP!! Staging ceremony photos

For some reason I look like a BEAST when someone takes a candid picture of me.  My arms become 10x fatter.  I get a billion chins... and my mouth always looks awkward.  I can't take staged pictures either because I don't know how to smile on command.

But it's the candid pictures of the ceremony that I'm TERRIFIED of.  This is the most important day of my life... and I want to share my pictures with the whole world.

So, is it okay to stage the ceremony pictures?  Even the shots of my dad walking me down the aisle--and then me and my husband's kiss at the end?

    You could do that but it will require more time on your wedding day & more time from the church....or you could do it on another day which would cost you more money too.
    Hire a good photographer that and they will take candid photos of you & weed thru them to only show you the "good ones". Don't get so stressed out about it, it's your wedding day (o;

    Staging the photos is okay, but it should be completely unnecessary if you have a professional photographer, because he/she should know how to get the right shots.  Just be sure to communicate with him about what you don't like (i.e. I hate my left side) so that he can take that into account.

    Additionally, here are some tips that can help you with the things you are worried about.  Practice in the meantime and you'll barely have to think about them on your big day:

    * Wearing all one color (not just black) can make you look thinner, so keep that in mind.

    * Hold your arms slightly away from your body; this will keep your upper arm flab from flattening out and appear ing 10x flabbier.

    * Move your head slightly forward to elimate the appearance of a double-chin. (You might think you look dumb, but you don't.)

    * Stand up straight!  This will make a huge difference in your overall appearance.

    * Never face the camera straight-on.

    * Your mouth will look awkward if you're holding it tight.  Just relax!

    Again, if you've picked a pro, your photographer will be able to make you appear beautiful.

    Thanks for the advice-- I will definitely do all of that :-).  I didn't hire a professional; I hired my cousin who is breaking into photography.  This will be her second wedding, actually.  She did a beautiful job with her first, but that bride (another cousin) is extremely photogenic already.  Anyway, I'm confident in her work....just not confident in myself!  But I am definitely going to put your tips to work.  Thank you!
