Ideas for budget out of town bags?

Hi all - 

I'm starting to think about what we'll need to get for our out of town bags. We're on a budget so this is a lower priority. I'm thinking bottled water, some snacks and a letter welcoming and thanking the guest for coming with some details for the weekend (brunch, etc.). Anyone have any cute but affordable ideas to add?

    Go to your local travel bureau and pick up some brochures for local attractions...they're free. :)  You could also print out a map of the area.

    I think snacks and the letter would be great.  And, I like gpapale's idea about the brochures for things to do in the area!

    Yup... pretty much what everyone else has said. For mine, I also threw in a schedule of events for the weekend. We also included directions to and from the venue, church and rehearsal dinner from the hotel location.

    Same as PP. We're also making do not disturb signs for the doors. We're printing them so they're costing us practically nothing.

    I made door hangers that say "recovering from our wedding" which turned out really cute. I plan to also make some labels for water bottles and bake some chocolate chip cookies to put in there with some maps and brochures.

    def. free brochures and go to Sam's Club or Cosco for the goodies. That's what we're doing. :)
