wedding chuppah/bamboo alter

Wondering how those of you who had a bamboo alter got it to stand up on grass... i'm stumped!!

    I'm not having a bamboo alter, but don't you just kind of push it into the grass?  Like if you were setting up a volleyball net in the grass or setting up a badminton net. No? 

    As far as I can tell, it should stand "in" the grass, not "on" top of it.

    We made our huppah out of staircase bars (I can't think of the name of them). We screwed L shaped brackets on the bottom/sides and used stakes to go in the ground. It stayed up just fine. We also put a little bit of flowers around the base to disguise the stakes.

    if the bamboo poles are hollow you can drive poles into the grown and place the bamboo poles over them
