DJ Face to Face

Now I love music, truly, but I have no clue about song names, types, band names... none of it. I just found out, (weddings in 11 days) that my DJ does not do a face to face meetings I only get to meet him the morning of the wedding - as if i have time. It is all done via emails and A phone call. I am not sure about any of you, but I am a horrible phone person, no matter how much I write down. I reserved the DJ online (my first mistake) through a Knot referral, the CO representative sounded great, enthusiastic and pleasant. Thought how can I go wrong. Now if i have a question, it takes for ever for a response, and the best they can do to go over sheduling, song ideas - suggestions - and what not is the DJ will call me (or email) on Monday ... maybe Tuesday of next week - that is 4 days before the wedding. HELLO... please tell me I am being irrational, but really... Thanks for reading my rant.

We hired our DJ a year ago...we met him before we signed the contract, but haven't had contact with them since... they mailed us the info sheet last month and we filled it out (play list pick, names of bride and groom, etc), but actually haven't talked to them either...we are supposed to have a phone call with them 2 weeks before the wedding, but that's it... no face to face contact til the wedding. So maybe, it won't be too hectic for you if you get to talk to them a few days before the wedding either... good luck!

we also didn;t meet our dj yet. we are at the end of the wk and my wedding is in 10 days. i thought this at first to like it was crazy that we havent meet yet but from others i asked it didnt seem to uncommon.

We won't meet our DJ until we get to our reception- we've just done everything online. Today I got an email saying who our actual DJ would be, and that I can email him, but I'm not really sure what we would have to discuss... It seems like this is pretty common

Yep, I'm in the same boat. I've only talked to our DJ once when we first booked him, everything else has been email. We will have one final phone meeting within the next week and then we'll meet him at the reception! I agree with you though...I thought it was weird too and was worried but I guess it's normal!

We met the owner of the company over a year ago when we hired them. We won't meet our actual DJ until the day of, though. We just discussed things through phone & e-mail, no biggie. The company has a reputation for being the best in Milwaukee so I'm not really worried, though.
