Am I forgetting things?

Hi guys! So, I'm 5 months out and I feel like I've pretty much been at a stand still as far as planning for a little while now. I'm starting to wondering if there's things I should be doing that I'm forgetting about or just not realizing I need to do this early.

I have the venue, caterer, photographer, DJ, cake, makeup artist, officiant, dress, save the dates have gone out, and I'll be DIYing flowers.

Are there things I'm missing that I should be working on now? Thanks in advance!

You're ahead of me for sure!

I keep having this nagging feeling that I should be working harder on invites.  That's all I can think of though.

Are you doing favors? Are they DIY?  What about starting programs / invitations?

Sounds like you're ahead of the game!  What about bridesmaid dresses, centerpieces, and decorations?  Are you doing escort or place cards that could be prepared in advance in some way?  Have you already decided on and/or ordered your invitations?

    Thanks guys!

We're having a photo booth, so I figured the photo strips could be favors. Does that work?

I just started working on invitations last night. As for programs, I wasn't really planning on doing them. Do you think I should? Are they important?

I only have one bridesmaid and she's got it narrowed down to 3 dresses. She just needs to pick one. I guess she could start working on that.

I have some ideas for for decorations and centerpieces, but nothing concrete yet. I could work on that, too.

And, I was leaning against escort/place cards, but I'll look into that a little more, as well.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

I don't think programs are necessary at all, especially if you are having a straight forward ceremony.  If you are incorporating anything out of the ordinary that would need explanation, then maybe.  We aren't doing them.

Photo strips as favors sounds good to me!

i think escort/placecards depends on how many people you're expecting.  My cousin got married earlier this year.  She had about 180 people there and didn't do either escort or place cards and I will tell you, it was a little confusing.  People were scavanging around trying to figure out where to sit and with whom.  It was a little awkard.  But if you're having a more intimiate reception, you might not need them.  I'm inviting 200 guests and I'm just doing escort cards.

Programs aren't necessary, for our wedding we used them to explain the different steps in an Indian wedding - very useful to our guests :)

If there's a practical aspect of something go for it, else don't!
