This is so sad! I loooved Whitney Houston!! I think I definitely need to play "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" at the reception in her honor. It was my favorite song to play at my sleepovers in elementary school
It is very sad. What is even sadder is they dont know the cause. In high school I sang the Greatest Love of All in an Vocal Adjudication and ranked high. I hid my ranking from my mom because I was scared I would have to sing at the international adjudication and my mom wasn't able to come. I had a fear of singing and mom always help the fear go to away.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say drugs and/or complications from years of drug abuse.
I am drunk. FI and I had some friends over. My MOH looked at her phone and started stcreaming because somene texted her that Whitney died. No one believed it! So so so sad.
But yeah, just a guess that it has something to do with cocaine...
I loved the Whitney album when I was a kid, but she lost me in the 90s with the drugs and erratic behavior. I think it's safe to say she never got rid of those demons. She had so many opportunities to reinvent herself and always seemed to stumble.
I think it's very sad that someone so talented was also so tormented. I won't pretend to understand addiction, but all I can say is at least her demons are gone.

Same here, I was also Skyping with several of my friends and we all thought it was yet another celebrity death hoax until it started showing up on "real" news sites.
Fawn: Most deaths are ruled "natural causes", even ones from drug use because the drug use causes organ failure which is "natural." Michael Jackson's death was from "natural causes" for this very reason - unnatural causes are things like gunshot wounds and other injuries.
It is so sad to have lost another singing legend. I have always loved and adored Whitney Houston! I feel so sorry for her daughter Bobbi Kristina. No child deserves to lose their mom in such a sad and tragic way.
