So, this last Friday we managed to get some small stuff done:
I got the paper for the signs I need to make (guest book table, escort card and memorial table, bar). I plan on cutting them out on my Cricut. I have to say, I was a little disappointed in ACMoore's selection of wedding paper. There was none.
We got the candles and holders for the memorial table. We got them at Pier 1; compared to the craft stores selection and pricing, Pier 1 definitely had the best prices and choices. I highly recommend you check it out. We got three small unscented pillar candles (for the 3 grandparents who have passed), and we got pillar-holder candle sticks. We plan on putting a sign, along with a picture of the person next to the candle.
We got the paint and all for the ringbearer train (instead of using a pillow, we are using a train, and letting the ringbearer keep it after). We ordered the train online, and it was perfect size, but it didn't come with the colors we needed.
We got the jewels for the meal selection. They had sheets of jewels in the scrapbooking section of ACM. Since we are doing actual escort cards instead of seating cards (escort cards are the ones in envelopes, seating cards are the tented kind), we needed something to put on the outer envelope to designate what the person got.
We met with our pastor and outlined the majority of our ceremony. Since we are doing a full on Lutheran Ceremony, with Communion and all, we needed to pick hymns and readings and set up the flow of the ceremony.
We still need to decide between a unity candle or a three cord strand ceremony (
http://www.create-a-christian-wedding.com/cordofthreestrands.html). We like the idea of the three strand ceremony because not many people do it, and it's different. Plus, we would never use the candle again; with the cord, we can frame it and hang it in our home as a visable reminder of our vows.
Anyone have any other checks??
