MONEY, MONEY, MONEY, MONNNEYYY

Hey ladies tonight & tomorrows topic is : Money!!

So what has been your favorite purchase?my dress & candy buffett jars

Least Favorite? stuff for coasters haha-- because i had to go out in the rain that we just had this past weekend and it was horrible and i had no power so i was making 80 coastes by flashlight and candles lmao!!!

Did you finish paying your venue yet?not yet i have 10 days until before my wedding to finish paying everything so it kinda gives me a few , but me and the FI have a system down right now so we are working with that

What about everything else? still have to finish paying for the other vendors and etc

If you had all the money in the world would you change your entire wedding or not  or some of it? somethings i guess just adding more detail ,maybe change the veunue site

Have you had to make a ton of sacrifices for your wedding (money wise) ? yes, cutting alot of people off the guest list and changing alot of things around cutting out things

After all the money you spent on your dress (if you did) what are you going to do with it after the wedding? preserve it.

What's your budget? i dont even know now haha. it was 5,000, then 7,000, i have not clue..

Have you stuck with it? haha no it has not been stuck with lol.. it was thrown out the window like the second day

Money i know for me has been a BIG BIG BIG issue and I can say that i feel a whole alot better that I kinda have it down pack a bit lol. but seriously money can drive you crazyy.lmao.

keep the chat going ladies...

So what has been your favorite purchase?my dress and will be the cake, if we decide to go with peach bavarian one. I have such a sweet tooth...

Least Favorite? probably invitations, even though I didn't purchase it yet and it's not even my money! lol Parents are paying for that part. I just think it's crazy how much it costs for paper!

Did you finish paying your venue yet? no because god forbid anything happens to the place we don't want to lose our money. So we have all the money saved in the bank, so technically yes we finished paying it off but the venue doesn't have it yet

What about everything else? nope, just deposits. Oh except my dress that's paid off

If you had all the money in the world would you change your entire wedding or not  or some of it? I would change my venue to the Palace at Somerset Park because that's where I wanted it originally until I found out the price. I would hire Lou Anthony for videography because his work was amazing and I would have Michael Bruce who I wanted for a florist but didn't get him because of price. Oh and I would get the invitations that I love that cost almost 2 grand. And I would get lots of draping for the reception and a whole bunch more prints from my photog (but this doesn't mean I don't love who I have now!)

Have you had to make a ton of sacrifices for your wedding (money wise) ? um, not really. we've made sacrifices but nothing too drastic

After all the money you spent on your dress (if you did) what are you going to do with it after the wedding? preserve it.

What's your budget? 30,000 but I think we're at 36 and we haven't even finished getting everything yet! yikes :/ maybe we should be making more sacrifices...

Have you stuck with it? we tried to! we were doing well! what broke our budget was our photographer but that was something we were more than happy to do because it's the one thing we have left of our wedding after it's over. But we doubled our photog budget otherwise we'd be pretty much on track

and I would just like to add that I HATE money. Absolutely hate it! I've cried so many times over money it's not even funny. I wish it never existed and we should go back to bartering lol. I've also asked my FI numerous times if we could leave and go to the Caribbean and just be locals with a shack business and not worry about money...that would be nice :)

So what has been your favorite purchase?my dress

    Least Favorite?
I think it has to be invitations! W did them ourselves.  They turned out very nice, but a BIG pain in the ass to print!!

Did you finish paying your venue yet? no.  We will do that closer to the Day.

What about everything else? t We will pay off the cake this weekend.  Flowers will be next.  Photographer & DJ will be next month; rings and gifts are next week. I know I am forgetting something....

If you had all the money in the world would you change your entire wedding or not  or some of it?
There are many things I would change..I can't name all of them.  But... definately my invite list would be bigger; and it would be at Congress Hall in Cape May... with all the bells & whistles.

Have you had to make a ton of sacrifices for your wedding (money wise) ?
yes, cutting alot of people off the guest list, and watching every penny.... more stressful then fun, at times.

After all the money you spent on your dress (if you did) what are you going to do with it after the wedding? Since it's not a traditional gown, I am most likely alter it somehow someday... makeing it shorter.

What's your budget?  Well, we started at 8,000, then 9,000, i have not clue..it's at least 10 by now.

Have you stuck with it? no Although I tried!!!  I just keep wanting a little more

So what has been your favorite purchase? As everyone said, my dress.

Least Favorite? Hmmm... I dont realy have a least favorite purchase yet, but I am really dislikeing favors at the moment.  They are way too expensive and I think I'm over thinking the whole process.

Did you finish paying your venue yet?  Not yet.  I've only been making the mandatory deposits as required in the contract.  My last one is due I think a week before the wedding.  My FI is in finance and wants to earn the interest on the money (I know its only like $5, but its important to him so whatever).

What about everything else? I've paid off the DJ because that was fairly inexpensive.  Everything else we are again paying off only as the mandatory deposit times come up.

If you had all the money in the world would you change your entire wedding or not  or some of it? Hmm I'd probably change the menu to all the top meal options.  Surf and Turf for everyone!   I would also just get the premier package for my photographer.  Overall though, the general feel to my wedding would be teh same.

Have you had to make a ton of sacrifices for your wedding (money wise) ? Not to much.  We've watched what we were spending to  a degree.  I tried to go with what I felt was average for our area.  I did go with a day time wedding and reception instead of an evening one like I originally wanted.  It was the only way for me to afford Lucien's.

After all the money you spent on your dress (if you did) what are you going to do with it after the wedding? preserve it.

What's your budget? We were shooting for $30,000, but I have a feeling we'll be up to 35 by the end.  I still can't believe how expensive it all is.

Have you stuck with it? I think we've done an okay job sticking with it so far.  Really the most expensive thing by far was the reception hall.  Everything else we've kept pretty average I feel.

And Northstar I totally feel what you are saying!  It is definitely very stressful!  I just feel so guilty about spending it sometimes. Though we've been saving for more years then I care to count and both of us have lived at home in preparation for this.  I just am more used to hoarding money then spending it.

aneres, we haven't been saving for that long, just for the past year actually. But it's funny because FI and I are kind of the opposite from you. Because we've been saving so much and been so frugal with everything else in our lives, we don't feel guilty about what we spend for our wedding.  It's almost to the point where we're going overboard but it's going to be awesome lol.

So what has been your favorite purchase? My dress and the added extras I am having done to customize it to be my own :)

Least Favorite? Don't really have a least favorite yet. I do agree that I'm not that thrilled with having to get favors.

Did you finish paying your venue yet?  Not yet we won't do that until a few weeks before.

What about everything else? No we have all of our deposits down but won't be paying them off until the deadline God forbid something happens.

If you had all the money in the world would you change your entire wedding or not  or some of it? I think we would have more top shelf alcohol but other than that I love our decisions.

Have you had to make a ton of sacrifices for your wedding (money wise) ?
Not really we have cut corners where it's appropriate to. We will be doing our own menu cards, placecards, table numbers, and programs. A lot of the small things people don't always notice.

After all the money you spent on your dress (if you did) what are you going to do with it after the wedding? Not sure yet...

What's your budget? Originally it was $22 but we are up around $27

Have you stuck with it? No we did not budget properly for a photographer and all the little extras like jewelry, shoes etc

Omg... what I could do w/$30,000.  All I can say is....Lucky girls!! lol

Its funny how quickly that money goes though!  FI's parents offered to pay for Lucien's and thats where the bulk of our budget money went.  We've definitely been blessed by our parents.  All in all though, I've been to really tacky big budget weddings and really nice small weddings.  It's all about the personally touches and what you do with the money you have.  Laughing
