Save the Dates-Postage increase!

Hi everyone!  I was just enformed by our accountant at work postage is going up again on January 22nd!  I think it's three cents for a postcard and 1 cent for regular postage!  I know it will literally maybe save everyone 1.00 or 2.00 but that's better than nothing lol!  I guess I am using it as an excuse for getting my save the dates out lol!  Hopefully they will be all ready to go by the end of this weekend!

Re: Save the Dates-Postage increase!

  • yeah, i was thinking about buying a ton of stamps (usps.com has wedding stamps that are forever stamps), but then i realized that even if i bought 200 stamps i would only be saving $2.00. but i DID buy stamps atleast for my save the dates. i should be getting them this weekend/early next week and hope to send them out soon.
    Happily married since 9/1/2012!

  • I can't buy stamps for the invites yet (they might be heavier), but I am going to buy 200 for STDs, shower thank yous, RSVP cards, and wedding thank yous. I counted it out and 200 should about cover all that. Hey, 2 dollars is 2 dollars!   :)

  • What type of stamps do you use for postcards? The .42? We're going to use postcards for our RSVPs and I don't know much about stamps for them. lol
  • While thats a bummer, I'm glad they are increasing the cost of postage before we send out our invitations.  It would be really terrible if we sent out our invites and our reply cards didn't have enough postage on them!

I'm assuming you'd do the small ones. I don't know how much the post card increase is. I don't know if its also 1 cent or more- it didn't tell me.</span></div>

  • Well crap!  I send our STDs as postcards and bought 3 rolls of stamps because our RSVP cards will likely be the same. (the flowers on them match our theme)  Now they are going to look stupid with a .01 stuck next to them, but when will I ever utilize 100 .29 stamps?

Just because you saw it on Four Weddings, doesn't mean it's a good idea.
  • Thanks for the heads up! I'll have to remember to buy my stamps for my STDs before then.
