Cupcakes?

Those that are doing cupcakes where did you get them from?

Re: Cupcakes?

  • I was originally planning on cake, but ended up getting cupcakes and cake drops from Bella Creations (clicky). We tasted some of their desserts at a bridal show and couldn't stop ourselves.
  • Wer getting them from NoRA Cupcake Co. in Middletown (CLICKY). They're delicious, they have a vegan/gluten free chef, and Carrie is absolutely awesome. You can check them out on Facebook too, she posts the flavors of the day on there =]

  • We are using Sugarbelle's in Glastonbury. If you need to include any gluten free cupckaes, they work with a bakery down the road from them. They are also making us a small cutting cake to have for ourselves and we will incorpate it into the display design.

We're doing cupcakes as favors, but we're getting them from Georgetown Cupcakes.  They're the store that has the "DC Cupcakes" TV show on TLC.  I've been going to their store since literally the first week they were open, and FI used to buy me cupcakes from there when they were just a little hole in the wall whenever I was feeling down.  They are literally the best cupcakes on earth, especially their red velvet flavor.  Yum!

Georgetown Cupcakes just opened a store in Manhattan, and another is opening in Boston next month.  We're going to pick up in Boston the day before the wedding.  The cupcakes are $29 for a dozen (so $2.42 each) and the individual boxes (for favors) are $0.50 each, so my favors are just around $3 per person!

They will ship, but they're ridiculously expensive so it's better for someone to pick-up.  They also do delivery, but only in the metro area, so it's too far away.

  • We did Sam's Club... and they tasted awesome, and looked great.  Our caterer set them up for us.  They were $14 for 30. You just can't beat that.

May I suggest ordering a dozen ahead of time?  That way you can skip the line!  It gets to be close to 2 hours long sometimes.  It's ridiculous now that they have a show.  But if you pre-order, you can skip the line and just pick them up.  Plus that way you can try all the flavors!  It's $29 for a dozen, so not cheap, but soooooo good!

We're using Sgarbelle in Glastonbury as well. I think they have another store in West Hartfor, though. One bonus is that if you choose Sugarbelle, whatever you buy to sample before the wedding gets deducted from your final bill at the end!

Damn! I will definitely pre-order, thanks for that suggestion!
  • We used Frosted Couture Cupckes in Southington & people raved about them. Check out the website & all the flavors. Joelle creates these beautiful displays and you can mix small cupcakes and regular sized cupcakes and choose a variety of favors (all labeled so people know what they are eating)...the small ones are great to try out different flavors. We also used them for a cotton candy tree for a centerpiece for the kids table (such a hit) & for some cake pop favors.
