Giving flowers to Mary

When do people give flowers to Mary duing the Mass? We are trying to figure out where it fits. I know it's not technically in the rite of marriage but they do allow it. Where does it go?! Got any idea's? Also when do you give flowers to our moms? During the sign of peace?

Thanks for your input.

With I think 1 or 2 exceptions of the 200 weddings I've played, Its done after Communion. If not a mass, then at the end before the blessing. Check with the priest.

  • We did it after Communion during our full Mass. The cantor sang Ave Maria which gave us plenty of time to walk to the altar, place our flowers, pray together, and walk back.

<div>It sounds like that is probably what we are going to do, we are for sure going to sing Ave Maria!</div>

  • During weddings I've been to at my church, the flowers are given to the mothers during the sign of peace, and the flowers are given to Mary after communion.  This is what we will be doing as well.  At all the weddings I've been to, the Ave Maria has been sung during that time.  FI and I decided to use "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman" instead, because we both really like that song, and thought it would be nice.
