Hi!  Mine is, too.  What's his MOS?  Tell us more about you!  What do you do with your day (work/school)?  How'd you guys meet?  Tell us about your wedding!  We're obviously all getting married or recently married around here, and we like wedding details.

He is Infantry, LAV Crewmen. Yours?
I go to school from 8 until 12 then work from 12 to 4:30.
We meet in high shcool, started dating two years ago and i've been the happiest i've ever been since then! We are getting married August 11th, 2012 at my childhood church and have a majority already planned. I feel like we jumped right into planning though, are we moving too fast, although we are getting married on that date? Or is it good to have things planned early?

It's totally ok, if you don't think you're gonna change your mind before that. What all do you have done, or maybe a better question would be, what do you have left to do?

    Congrats!  We're right behind you - September 1st, 2012.

Mine's a JAG, so he's finishing up law school now.  He'll go active duty after taking the bar exam next summer, so it'll be a whole lot at once (going active, getting married, relocating, going to TBS right after) but we're excited for it to all get started finally!

I would definitely make sure you have a military clause in each of your vendor contracts.  Especially with Infantry, it's hard to know when they'll deploy or have training they can't get out of.  Just something in each contract that says if he cannot attend the wedding as planned due to his military commitment, that the vendor agrees to transfer the deposit to a mutually agreeable date, and honor the current pricing at the time of signing the contract, or refund your money.

I think you're fine to have planned for next summer - I'm all planned, and I'm right after you.  I feel like it makes the whole thing a lot less stressful!

We still have to find a photographer, and make decisions about food for the reception. But thats about it for the wedding and reception. As for me and my girls. I haven't found a dress yet but am going november 12th to look for one! Also need to go shopping for the bridesmaids dresses.

I used to travel in Shenandoah County, Virginia many years ago when I worked in a college admission office.  I always managed to be there in the fall it is and I thought it was just breath taking.

I had everything planned, photographer, location, cake, DJ and dress 8 months before.  I think this gave me time to enjoy the engagement and not stress about everything.  I also needed to have things planned early since we got married at a resort and they only had two spring dates left so that helped me along.
