Photobooth Alternative

I was at a recent event and there was an oufit there called customincredibles.com.  Basically, instead of a photobooth, a photographer goes around and takes candid photos (or posed photos of people that want to), and they are loaded into a giant touchscreen LCD with continual updates.  Guests go up to the screen, find the images they like and they get printed out onsite for them to take home.  You can put one or multiple images on the print and even write a caption.  If you put your email and facebook info in, you can post it on your facebook page from there, and have a PDF of the image emailed to you.  I thought this was a pretty slick idea.  Prints were much higher quality than I have seen with photobooths, and guests didn't have to go out of their way or wait in line to have the pictures taken.  I am not sure what the cost is, but it may be worth looking into.

Re: Photobooth Alternative

Sounds interesting but it seems like it takes all the fun out of the "photobooth" experience. I like to act a litle silly in a photobooth since its just me, a few friends and the camera

I kind of dig this. Pretty cool alternative, but I can see sfennell1's point with the whole experience. However, this can increase the participation of some of the older guests that don't want to jump into the photobooth

I kind of like this idea but then thinking about it reminds me of parties where they have a tacky background and people go take pictures. Would they just go around asking people if the would like their pic taken or is there a designated area they can go?

This sounds like a neat idea.  We're not doing a photobooth because I'm one of those people who just don't see them as fitting (no disrespect, of course).  But this sounds like it would have more appeal to me.  It also sounds like it might be quite a bit more expensive than a photobooth.

I don't know how expensive it is, but the print quality was outstanding.  It was an 8x10 size, either one pic or up to 4 on one sheet with a nice border indicating the date and the event.  The fact that you could get a copy emailed to you or put on your facebook was cool too, and you could caption the images.  People WERE getting kind of wacky once they figured out what was going on.  It seemed like a big hit with the guests, even the older ones that just wanted to go home with a nice portrait of them and their husband/wife.
