XP: Heart birdseed feeders

I am absolutely in love with the heart shaped birdseed feeders I've seen on TK and Etsy. My wedding is January on the Texas coast, and this is one of very few things I can do that is "wintery" without being snow themed.

Opinions? Would you like to get one of these? I think I'd much prefer it to the little tiny jars of jams/honey I keep getting at weddings that are all over my fridge.

I would LOVE to get these, and considered it for my wedding. Not everyone is into nature, it depends on what your friends and fam are like but I sure am!

I don't think putting birdseed out for birds is being into nature more being cruel to nature as it makes birds (and other animals) dependent on scuraging for food from humans and stops the import natural things like birds eating local seeds that they then spread through droppings etc. Things like this can also cause bird nusiance problems- it is a reason that most venues no long allow bird seed to be thrown at weddings.

I personaly wouldn't like it as a favour but I am into nature. Also people who live in condos/apartments etc may not like it either or even be allowed to have it in their building.

_jaye, I think you may be reading a little too much into it.  She's not supplying enough bird seed to offset whole forests of birds plus she's in Texas so it's not like the birds aren't going to migrate to warmer climated since they're being fed where they are.  I live in the country and see absolutely nothing wrong with the birdseed feeders.  If I hadn't already chosen my own (maple sugar hearts) I would steal the idea :-)

I think they're a cute idea.  We haven't decided if we're doing favors yet (because I can't think of many non-food ones that people would actually use) but birdseed feeders and photo-booth are at the top of my list.

i love it- its a gift every one can use- even if they live in a condo- they can take it on a walk and feed the birds, suction cup them to the outside of their window,  or at the city park. its way better then a magnet, or pen. i think ill be making these for teacher gifts and maybe even shower favors sense i already have my wedding favors.
