Timing of shuttle

Can you ladies help talk me through the timing of our shuttle from the hotel to the ceremony/reception (they're in the same place). We have the shuttle for three hours before the ceremony (starts at 4:30p), and three hours after the reception (ends at 10p).

Here's what I'm thinking. Shuttle pickup from the hotel at:
1:15 (groom and GM?)
2:00 (MOB, FOB, MOG, SFOG, friends who are helping to decorate)
3:15 (anyone)
4:00 (everyone else!)

Shuttle pickup from the reception at:
8:00
9:00
10:00 (last call at 9:30)
10:30 (have to be OUT of the reception site)

Is it ok that in this scenario, most of our guests will arrive at the ceremony site at 4:10 for our 4:30 ceremony? Is that too early/late?

Am I missing anything? Do the GM need to be at the ceremony site earlier or later? They will start taking pictures at 3:30.

Re: Timing of shuttle

  • I was at a wedding recently where we were shuttled to the site.  They told us to be there no later than a half hour before the start of the wedding.  It took some time to get all 150 guests to the ceremony site (5 minute or less drive).  FI and I were on the second shuttle so we got there relatively early and it wasn't that bad having to wait 20ish minutes.  So what you have timed out should be fine.  I would be more worried about the pick off than the drop off anyways.  I would say groomsmen should be there when FI is there and earlier is always better than later.  Hope that helps.  Looks like you have everything covered.  I would just maybe add pick up times in your program (if you haven't already)to make sure everyone knows when they need to leave by.

<div>Thank you! I'm not sure what you mean by pickup times though... the times I've listed above are the times that people should be ready to get on the shuttle. </div><div>
</div><div>My other concern is we probably have 50-60 people staying at the hotel, and only a 32-passenger bus, so we'll need to make sure people know that some of them have to go early.</div>

  • Shuttle pick up from the reception.  Is what I meant about putting it in the program or maybe posting it somewhere at the reception.  If you have to have two different pick up times maybe you could make some sort of shuttle ticket(or even a cute key chain of sorts) that have 32 with time A and32 with time B and maybe it could be first come first serve.  Not sure if this makes sense.  Hopefully it does.

That seems a little early for the groom and GM to be at the ceremony. I know with my FI he WOULD NOT be impressed going that early and waiting around.
