Personal attendant

Hey girls, it has been a while since I started a thread!
I have been wondering just what it is that a personal attendant is supposed to do. I know that she is there to help the bride dress and make sure that she looks good, but are there any other specific duties that she is supposed to carry out? Thanks!

    Although I haven't been a personal Attendent I am expecting mine to do any running for things forgotten or otherwise. She is also going to take charge of my personal items/ over night bag making sure it get to our Honeymoon suite.

    My former roommate was a PA and the bride asked her to drive the Mother of the Groom to her hair and such as she was unable to herself for health reasons.

    My Friends PA was like a mini Wedding Planner. She was keeping ppl on time and making sure we lined up etc.

    So I think it depends on your needs. :) HTH

    I had no idea what to have my personal attendant do and I was worried that she would be bored with nothing to do....BOY was I wrong!  She was my hero!  She did anything from make sure I drank water, keep track of my things (since I was in no frame of mind to keep track of anything!), and she pinned all the corsages and bouts.  She also had a schedule of the pictures so that she knew who to track down and when.  She had also made a survival kit which we used a lot (bobby pins, gum...) She was spectacular and I don't think I couldve made it through the day without her!!

    I'm basically giving my PA all of the information on the day so she can function like a wedding planner.  She will know all of the details and be in charge of making decisions for me in my absence.  I didn't think she would be a big deal at first, but as my wedding has gotten closer I'm realizing I'm relying on her more and more.  Mostly, she's there to keep me sane.  And to keep track of things I'm bound to forget  :)

    I actually have three personal attendants (I know, I know... long story). I also have a DOC, so none of my PAs will be doing anything DOC-ish. I'm two weeks out from my wedding and I'm just now figuring out what each PA will do. I'm basing it on their personalities and talents. Here are some examples:

    PA no.1 (my future SIL): Keep FMIL out of the bridal suite until later in the morning, make me laugh, help me get dressed.

    PA no. 2 (member of my FI's extended family): Pin bouts on groomsmen & ushers, keep and eye on the guys and get them rounded up on time for pictures

    PA no. 3: Hang with me during pictures, TBD
