In honor of my new ticker/weight loss goal/me actually comitting to doing something with my weight loss goal, I'd like to share ideas for weight loss friendly breakfast foods, lunch foods, and snacks. I'm great about eating well for dinner, but I always get stuck when I try to think of healthy foods that I can eat throughout the rest of the day..
What quick/healthy/low-cal foods do you eat for...
- Breakfast
- Lunch
- Snacks
-Breakfast for me usually ends up being high carb foods like cereal or waffles. I'm not a big egg person and i need ideas for a low carb/high protien breakfast
- For lunch sometimes I make a simple chicken or tuna salad without bread (chicken or tuna + mayo + little bit of mustard + little bit of relish + salt/pepper)
- I do best with snacks - I've just recently tried Chobani yogurt which is high in protien and low in carbs, regular old lite n fit yogurt, any kind of fruit, any kind of fresh veggies (celery sticks, baby carrots, etc)
Re: NOM-NOM-NOM-NOM!
I like Greek yogurt for breakfast, and fresh fruit. I'm not a big breakfast person, nor do I really like eggs so this is perfect for me.
You could make soup for lunches on a weekend then have it ready to just heat up during the week.
Also, check out this website. I'm not trying to lose weight, but these recipes are DELISH. I love that it says the nutrition info at the bottom. The lasagna spinach wraps are sooo yummy. A favorite of mine.
ETA: silly me. Forgot the website. http://www.skinnytaste.com/

For sure! :) Good site!!
- Unsalted pretzels with one or two wedges of Laughing Cow cheese
- Pita bread with garlic hummus and tabouleh
- Granny smith apple with peanut butter OR a couple slices of cheddar cheese- Carrots with ranch veggie dip- Fresh salsa ( found in the refrigerated produce section-much lower in sodium and calories) with organic blue corn tortilla chips- Sliced tomatoes with fresh mozzarella and basil
- This one may sound gross, but cherry tomatoes and sliced cucumber mixed with cottage cheese and balsamic dressing
Anyone have any suggestions for chicken salad, tuna salad, and egg salad that doesn't involve mayo or any kind of yogurt? I love tuna salad but recently found out that I can't have mayo.

My Bio - updated 26/3/2011
I've been eating a lot of yogurt/power bars for breakfast or fruit smoothies, but they have SO much sugar, and I'm trying to cut that down. Alas, I may have to go the egg route. I no longer eat cereal because of how many calories/sugars most of them have. Boo.
For snacks, I have cottage cheese (reduced fat), carrots/celery + laughing cow light cheese (= divinity), and I have the babybel lights too. I also occassionally do some hummus; have some really good athenos roasted eggplant hummus that's quite tasty! I also do yogurts (on the hunt for a low sugar yogurt that's tasty). I'm going to have to nix the protein bars because of all the sugars.

Hmm, I'm not a fan of mixing food, but the Caribbean tuna salad sounds delicious. <div>For the Tuna veggie melt, I can't have mayo, yogurt, or cheese.</div>
Still here and still fabulous!
For breakfast, I have a 100% whole wheat (not just 'whole wheat', apparently there's a difference) bagel thin or sandwich thin with peanut butter. It's totally filling but not many calories plus great for protein. This won't help Tonk but every weekend I buy a dozen eggs and hard boil them. Takes about 20-25 mins tops, and then I have a snack to bring in every day. I don't eat the yolk, just the whites. I usually have at least one a day, sometimes, two. Guilt free snacking... yay!

I love hard boiled eggs and sometimes I put them in salads with chicken. I'm not a fan of breakfast eggs though for some reason.
I used to eat a lot of tuna, but stopped once I realized that the mayo was making me sick. Posted by MidniteRae
I've never liked mayo, but I do like tuna so I eat tuna sandwiches a lot but without any mayo. I like to mix the tuna with some lemon juice and pepper and then just eat it in a sandwich.
I got into them because they're supposed to be great for vegetarians (protein, vitamins) and I'm not always the healthiest vegetarian around.
Frozen grapes are great too.
And pretzels and hummus....ahh! Especially the thin pretzels.
By the way csousa, I love your snack list and I'm stealing it. I love how it's all stuff I can eat!
edit: NO EGGS!
I eat Lean Cuisines or soup and salad from St. Louis Bread Co. AKA Panera (calories are right on the menu board) for lunch.
Fruit and cheese stick are my go to for snacks.
Hope this helps!
